Holy crap. You guys are comparing Wilson to Montana? How about we wait a couple years to see what Wilson does before we try to compare him to, arguably, one of the best QB's of all time.

You want to make a comparison about who Wilson throws to but can anyone here name the running back for the 49ers in 1981?

I only drew a comparison between Wilson's first three years and Montana's best three years. That's very relevant to see how Wilson is starting his career compared to how other QB's performed at their peak, or early in their career.

My reply was relative to this comment:

Aye, Montana was throwing to Rice, Jones, Craig, Taylor etc.

Wilson throws to Doug Baldwin... Doug fucking Baldwin.

Just pointing out that even Montana was not always surrounded by incredible talent. Montana did not have "Beast Mode" to hand off to all the time. Rice, Taylor and Jones were not around until later in his career. Steve Young threw more TD passes to Rice than Montana did.

Montana wasn't the greatest athlete out there, but he had vision. Some of the younger QB's aren't as adept at seeing the field like he did. He did have Walsh also. Some people thought he was a dick, but he was a pretty smart coach.

Seahawks sign Wagner, he will end the year as one of the best 2 MLB in football. He and Kuechly.

So Russell Wilson, Kam Chancellor, Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, KJ Wright, Cliff Avril, Michael Bennett, Jimmy Graham, Doug Baldwin, Beast Mode. Young studs on the defensive line, Cassius Marsh & Jordan Hill, led by Brandon Mebane, one of the most underrated DTs.

All locked up for the future. There is no front office better at managing the cap in the NFL right now, period. Sando says it perfectly:

When a team drafts well, it can go to guys with a year left on their deals, which gives you some leverage. This CBA really facilitates it.

The idea that the cap is an impediment is really overrated unless you have bad luck or sign the wrong players to wrong types of deals.

How do #Seahawks keep re-signing all their key guys? A matter of staggering the cap hits just so. Like putting together a puzzle.

Schneider learned from a master in Green Bay. Ted Thompson gets a lot of shit for his drafts at times, but its pretty darned tough to argue his results.

The real question is...will his OTHER recent disciple, Reggie down in Oakland, do near as well as John does up in Seattle? Time will tell. They did a fantastic job getting out from under the dead money and retarded contract structures put in place by zombie Al and his string of merry yes-men coaches

I think the Raiders are headed in the right direction, I really like Derek Carr. He has a chance to be a solid franchise QB.

On the Schneider note, he learned everything from Thompson no doubt. However, I think this is where Pete Carroll is underrated. He is a defensive coach who is amazing at picking out talent and more importantly getting "his" guys. People forget, Carroll is the coach AND President of football operations. He is Schneiders boss. I think McCarthy holds GB back, he's an offensive coach and honestly they should have a defensive coach imo. With Aaron Rodgers at QB they should be spending more money on the defensive side of the ball. It should be Rodgers, Lacy and defense. They pay too much money to WR's and non contributors on D.

man if the bills got wilson that would almost be a dream team.... all that team needs is a frickin quarterback to finally put it all together. hopefully one of the three (Manuel, Taylor, Cassle) can get their shit together and finally make it to the playoffs and possibly more?? :fingerscrossed:

For you Niner fans, I'm liking Pinion so far in practice. Some 5 second hang times. He reminds me of a young Ray Guy.

So, that's what Niner fans are reduced to? Hoping for the next coming of Ray Guy.

I'm really sorry guys, that's just not fair.

    I disagree.

You could do MUCH worse than wanting the next Ray Guy. The dude invented the modern kicking game, and was arguably the best puntar ever in all the footballz, and that includes today. Frankly, McAfee is the closest currently. Nobody else until at least another tier down from there, maybe two

looking forward to see what the new coach in SF is gonna do to the team.

I dont know why they even shopped around if they probably knew they were gonna go with a guy off their own staff.

49ers are in total disarray. I don't see Smith suiting up at all this year, now.

    http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/07/aldon-smith-arrested-for-dui-hit-and-run-and-vandalism/?utm_network=facebook&utm_post=4045943&utm_source=FB - SNF on NBC&utm_tags=srm[football,article]

I just hope they can at least get beyond 8-8. 9-6 would be nice but I'm worried about 6-10. Preseason should show something. I think the offense will be competitive, but the defense is in shambles. And if you know anything about SF, it's that the defense got them to the playoffs as much as the offense, most of the time.

I saw Fightinfire's post, dude, because I RTFT. I was mearly stating my opinion on the status of my team regarding this recent event. Additionally, my link is from a different source. ;)
