so i need everyones advice, help, experiences, and opinions

i dont know alot about this truck and parts but i want a better lift and a better off road ride

now when speaking of suspension...what falls under that category? shocks coils and all that other stuff??

well my uncle had a tacoma and wanted kings
from what i hear kings r kinda top of the line...what am i looking at spending?

 

There are tons of parts that go into the "suspension" category. You've got the a-arms or other floating suport for the brakes and wheels...You've got the coils, the shocks...Lift kits (either body or suspension lifts, spacers).

I haven't ever heard of kings- but I'm not all that versed in suspension set up for off road....Good luck!!

What kind Off Roading do you like and how much are you looking to spend?

 

I have a 3" toytec spacer/AAL lift. Cost around $300 shipped, but I'd like something better myself. It's kinda harsh when off roading.

I'm planning on OME coils (probably 886's since I have a DC and want a winch bumper), OME shocks all around, and Dakar leafs. You can price all that out at Wheelers Offroad or Toytec. Think it was between $1,000 and $1,200 last I priced them. I bet Kings, SAWs, or Donahoe's will run you 2-3grand easily up to 5-6grand for a full front/rear setup.

 

I am running a space lift with a aal in the rear , I am changing out the space up front its not to good off road i am goin with a coil lifr up front and keeping the aal in the rear, As far as shocks i am running icon shocks in the rear very nice off road and i am goin to be running OME shocks up front.

 

all these names ill be honest...im lost haha im on a 1200 dollar budget maybe

I didn't think we could do shackles on these trucks the way the rear leafs are mounted? Unless you mean after cutting off the stock leaf mounts and fabbing up some custom ones?

 

Oh right, you have an older gen one! Yeah, our mounts are f'd up. The leafs go over them and it's a large bracket that would need to be cut off the frame, flipped, and remounted before a new shackle would lift the truck.

 

^those had to be custom made. The stock setup wouldn't allow that, and would have to be removed first. As in, cut off since they are riveted on by the factory.

Nice pics though! So it can be done if you know how/where to get them.

 

Not welded, but riveted on with the factory 1/2" rivets so cut/drill them out...
