Okay cool man thanks for the input. I have 33's now but I really wanna do 35's when these tires wear out. Think maybe 4.88's are gonna be the way to go. I feel like after a while a lot of people who went 4.56 wish they would have gone 4.88.

I'm thinking 4.56 because of the different gear ratios in the 6 speed, so I want to bring my RPM's down just a hair with 35s

allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
    4.56's are perfect with 35's and a 6spd.

Ouch... I have an auto 4.88's and 33's. I get about 13-14 mpg doing 80 mph running at almost 3K rpm. My rig weighs almost 6K lbs with my usual gear, me and a full tank of gas. If I slow down to 60 mph I jump up to almost 18 mpg.

Your near 2000lbs heavier then stock with bigger tires and over geared yet you get stock mpg? Seems a little off.

Its all about throttle control lol. You can get around 20 mpg stock if you keep rpms down and and stay at or under the speed limit.

I was getting higher before. The other catch, is once you are up to speed, weight doesn't affect your mpg unless you are hitting lots of hills. My city mpg is 11-12 mpg because of all the weight...

Another thing I have wondered but never found any evidence of; I live almost a mile high. There is less oxygen up here so my MAF will read lower causing the ECU to feed less fuel. You would think this lack of power would require more throttle to keep up, but overall I just seem to get better fuel economy than average.

There is a definitely a lack of power though. My engine is 100% stock, (stock exhaust, headers, intake etc). I'm running 4.88's and 33's and I can't even get one tire to chirp on pavement. My friend is running an aftermarket catback and Y-pipe with DTLT headers, AFE intake and the TRD S/C on stock gears and 33's and he can't hardly get it to break a tire loose on pavement either. Yet I hear on here from guys in lower elevations having no problem spinning a tire.

@memario1214 was in a similar scenario living in MT and I'm pretty sure he said his engine roared to life when he moved to a lower elevation. Not sure how it affected his mpg though.

Finally made it in here! My truck had NOTICEABLY more power when I ran it at lower elevation. I peaked at approximately 6 lbs with the smaller pulley at 5500 ft. When I went to Texas at nearly sea level I touched 9 a couple times. That isn't counting the higher manifold pressure without the S/C. As a quick frame of reference, keeping air temp, humidity, and pressure all equal a N/A vehicle running at a mile elevation is only making 79% of it's similarly equipped brother at sea level. That shit adds up quick when you are running armor and tires with greater rotational mass. All said and done I would venture to guess that I experienced a 35-40% power increase when I was playing around at sea level.

I was thinking of going to the URD stealth too. May have to do so in the future.

Here's a Pic I got of my truck at 65MPH Level Freeway ( GPS corrected )

    On the Scangauge:
Intake Air Temp ( With TRD CAI & DIY Snorkel )
    Throttle Position
Transmission Temp ( With Extra Cooler )
    Coolant Temp

Good to know. I'm going to look that up and pick one up. I always liked them better than the UG because of being able to just mount them on top of the steering column.

Great build! How are you liking the SUA setup over the SOA? How does it do on those gnarly off camber situations with one wheel stuffed one one extended?
    Have you drug the leafs?

    Thanks
