Speaking of hunting/scavenging, I ran across this guy today on my morning ride to work. I'm glad to see the fox are still around the bluffs. Pretty sure he was trying to catch one of those rabbits, cause those things are everywhere right now!!

I seen what looked like a Lynx over at the UCSB gardens a couple years ago, couldn't believe it.
Rode up on my mtn bike, so he didn't see me til the last second, bolted before I could get a picture...

Cool photo Chris. It's always nice to be able to see an animal out in the wild doing it's thing.

It's said that for so long now!! I just spoke with a co-worker who road it on dirt bikes a couple weeks ago. He said there still is equipment there but a stock full size truck could get around it. The equipment is in the road but there is PLENTY of room to drive around. If it was me, I'd take his word on it and do it. :notsure:

Hmmm, perhaps I will start in Santa Ynez with breakfast, go up Refugio Road and down to Refugio Beach and to the harbor, paddleboard and get lunch in the harbor, then drive up Gibraltar over East Camino Cielo to Pendola. Then camp and do my shenanigans with the girlfriend for our anniversary overnight. Then drive back and go over West Camino and mess around and then back down Refugio Road to the beach for a final paddle session at Refugio. Sounds like a good weekend!

Nope I've seen lots of Bobcats over the years, this looked like a Lynx, had a friend with me, he said the same thing...
The "gardens" get a lot of wildlife from the slue/airport area!

I honestly see a bobcat every-other time I'm up on West. they seem to always be out right around sundown.

sounds like a pretty damn good weekend to me!

We were supposed to go to Baja and go to wine country but everything is booked because it's harvest celebration weekend in Valle de Guadalupe.
And the Gudalupe Hot Springs just closed for the summer.
So staying local without 6-8 hours in the truck sounds good. Maybe a big Bear. The sierras really need a three day weekend

I actually might go up there tonight with my pup. Pending whether or not I get all my errands done after work I should be up there somewhere throwing the tennis ball around having couple beers.

I'm also down for another Gorman run! I think I would like to take the back route using lockwood wood. There is a lot to see back there and I haven't done it yet...

Does anybody have a ranch quad? Do you like it? I'm debating getting one for the gf so she can tag along in Pismo, but more importantly, she can bring a cooler when we're in the Sierras or elsewhere...

I thought about that, but I like the idea of the cargo ability of the ranch style quad. SB Motorsports has a new 2014 250cc for $4k. Might be able to work a trade in for my street bike which I want to replace anyways. She's not the go-fast type and I have my WR bike

Chris thanks again for the advice and your thread for my fenders. Should be done tonight or tomorrow, Ill post pics up so everyone can see. I got the wrench covered thanks for offering to let me borrow that. Ill get you a beer when I get to meet you.

I definitely hope something besides pismo camping wise gets set up. I would love to see what there is to do locally so that I don't need to drive 4 hrs plus to get a good camping trip going.
