I've had polished stainless on 2 vehicles.
Most are not junk and do not rust.
They look chrome because they're polished. Stainless steel is better than painted. Even here in snowy and salty streets in winter Canada.
I like the 4 or 5" oval better than round.
The stainless steps are fine if your looking for shiny bars but don't do agressive off roading.

Ok got my 4 inch oval steps in yesterday and went to put them on today but ran into a few minor issues. For the bracket holes at the front of pass door, there is a bolt in one of the holes, middle hole is hollow, and the third hole has a nut on the outside of bracket base and the hole is threaded. I will have to call the dealer tomorrow if you guys don't know what size bolt that is. I should be fine just putting a bolt in that one hole and a nut on that bolt that's in there and ofcourse putting one of the supplied nuts and bolts through the middle hole.

The middle hole of the bracket is larger than the 2 outer holes of the bracket as well as the middle hole of the base of the truck. Just to test fit today, I used to larger washers on outside and inside of bolt to keep it from sliding through as I test fitted. I can just get a larger bolt for the center for extra strength or security I guess though using the washers should suffice if I had to.

If any of you know what size bolt that is in the truck's bracket base let me know please. The steps came with 12 M8 30 bolts and 8 M10x25 bolts. The M10x25's are for the steps to bracket

Easy install like everyone has said. Just need basic tools and a torque wrench. Installed mine in under 30 minutes. OEM step tubes from Toyota though.

Your problem with this thread is that you list it in 2nd Gen forum and you own a 04.
The 2nd Gen have preexisting holes for easy install for step bars.
Your 04 does not as it appears.

i listed it yesterday in the first gen section but i guess everyone was busy busy busy.

it does have preexisting holes , its in the pics I showed. Its just that the middle one is larger in both truck and the bracket. No problem i will just use a larger bolt. The front spots on truck have a welded nut at one hole and the other hole( outter) has a bolt. Just need the size of that bolt so i can go to hardware store and get a nut for it and a bolt for the other hole where there is the nut. I'd hate to have to guess at the pattern and such and buy a bunch of few diff sizes but might end up doing that

    Same as everybody else...
I put on a pair of bolt on nerf bars by myself in under an hour. Also I hit the mounting brackets with some spray on bedliner I got at Lowe's.
