Browsing good ole Tw and saw this thread. I as well was on the hunt for a low reading boost gauge. I found this one at speedhut.com. Had to move my 4x4 switch, used a 2012 4 runner one.

Wow. I really like that a lot. That's being saved for future consideration. Do you have a write up on how you made the modifications?

I really did not do much. Took the old 4x4 switch out, extended the wires. Swapped the 4lo for the 4hi wire and cut a tiny hole to pass the wires through the cup holder. Then used a little bit of hockey tape to snug it up lol

Thank you. Any issues or snags installing the boys gauge in the old 4wd switch hole?

Np, gauge is not in the most ideal spot for reading. My seating position I can see 0-10. Most important part imo!

I used the plx Dm-100, and I piggybacked their boost and wideband sensors on it, too. It seems like that model now comes with obdII capabilities. Mine must have been a little older because i didnt have that feature. This was installed on my evo 9, and I really liked that the boost sensor was capable of doing both vacuum and boost. The DLM-100 is programmable, and to an extent customizable. I never went that far into customizing but the most valuable to me was the four value display, which I set to show boost, vac, afr, and I think I had the last value show peak boost. Don't recall anymore, but point being: it's a great gauge and sensor setup. Be ready to invest in it as an ecosystem though. It's kind of their schtick. The multi gauge is great, but do some digging on the sensors and the multi gauge output modes. My experience was great, but you'll want to ensure it scales well for your goals.

This looks great, and the workmanship is solid. For me, that's further than I'd like to divert my eyes from the road. I had problems when my gauges were that "far" away. This is simply my own preference, but I'd rather they be on the steering column or the a-pillar.

Either way, thanks for sharing. Very clean. Always neat to see how other folks do it!

I totally agree it is a pain to view in that location. I wish I could figure out a way to get a digital style boost gauge like my wife's mazdaspeed that can mount in or around the cluster.

Cant say I blame you for picking form over function here. It does look great.

Anybody seen a pod for over the rear view mirror? I've seen some other trucks have them up there but no Tacomas.

The more I think about this, the more I think it's kind of ricey (just my opinion). I originally wanted one and I still might get one but not anytime soon. I'm not doing anymore engines mods cause I don't want any warranty issues. For now at least. Thanks everyone for posting what you have.
