That is true. I just hope Costco has 0W-20 oil...

Question. I'm 23, making good money, flawless credit. I want to buy the '16, looking for a truck. I have a '99 T4R and have driven 4Runners all my short life basically.

When buying from a NEW car/truck Toyota, what are some perks? I know they do maintenance for two years, what do I need to do? How well does the dealer handle warranties and claims? I'm in Southern California.

FYI, What me and my family have done is buy used cars and drop $1k on suspension and $1k on engine parts and overhaul the cars on our own.

Wow the third gen really isn't a huge improvement on the second generation... I mean besides a huge distance between the grille and radiator there isn't much. The seats are nice but interior feels too much like a Camry or highlander. And yeah I guess I'll be keeping my 13 tacoma for a long time!

I can tell haha. I'm also in the 4Runners forum.

Anyway. You have a 2015 taco.. What are some recommendations, tips to buying a truck. Regrets...?? How to bring down the price at the dealer. I've heard Toyota doesn't budge on prices compared to other makes. Is there any additional warranties that will get me out of the hole one day?

    Haha wow!
You're not giving them hope, you're fulfilling it.

More info!!! Since you know the stealership so well.

I'm 80% sure on buying the truck before March 2016.

Edit: what is the best time of year to buy a new model?

I'd think since this is the last model year for the tacoma, once the 16s start hitting the lot, dealers will try to get rid of 15s to have more space for the new truck.

Why do you think the 2nd gen needed so much improvement?

It didn't need much improvement except in the drivetrain department.

    Sounds good.

When paying cash though, can I negotiate a lower price than when I plan to finance?

I can do either way but I prefer "finance" because tax records and show that I have

    Sounds good.
If I pay cash can I get a better deal on the price rather than getting 0% apr? How much of a discount is it? <--- I've seen this before..

Oh and I doubt I'll get cornered into a contract. I'm a rebel and can put my hammer down. I am the customer, remember.

I have the dough but I prefer to "finance" it because it can add up to my expenses and therefore pay less income tax. And I can keep my roll of $$$ for something else, like taco, ice crea, or guns. Haha :taco::bananadance::infantry::quickdraw:

That's my thought. I am getting a decent trade in value for my FJ and since its paid off it will be a great down payment. In the state of Ohio I only have to pay tax on the difference of my purchase price, not the sell price which means the longer I hold onto my FJ, the more tax I'll pay in the future since it will depreciate (not a lot but still). I also have great credit so the intrist I pay will be less than the full amount of tax I would have on waiting another three years to save up to pay the difference in cash. I am also in need of a truck and I'm getting $1,000 off MSRP so this is good timing for me

Looks as if there was an undercoating of some sort sprayed on everything down there. Maybe just hit them too?
I've yet to see 0W-20 at costco. I always look whenever I'm getting my 5W-30 b/c my wife's Camry takes the 0W-20.

I was at this event also. Just got some basic pics, nothing more than has already been posted on here. The rear shocks were Bilsteins as you can briefly see in this video. They were just covered in black undercoating, as was pretty much the entire rear end of the truck.

I'm just saying that's what it looks like. I doubt that would be a production feature. Probably just for the promo/test vehicles if that's what that is.

Yeah, it was definitely just done for this demo model. It was sprayed on parts of the exhaust as well.
