From my personal experience, around $600 to run 60 feet of 100-amp capable aluminum cable, a 100 amp subpanel, and 100 amp breaker for the main panel.
Of course, that doesn't include the $175 to rent the backhoe and dig the trench, or the wiring/boxes/outlets/switches to wire the garage itself, lol.

Quadruple that for Boston prices :D

I'm planning on powering the garage but no where near like that. I have a 15A breaker free that I'll run to the garage. It'll only be an outlet and a couple lights.

Keep in mind, the Raptor guys have more into their trucks than many of the lower to mid range Merc, Bimmer, Lexus, etc.

    Gotcha.
I went big on mine because my workshop is in the garage. So power tools plus lights is a lot more draw than a 15amp breaker could supply. Plus I've got an old Craftsman 220 stick welder and a Hobart 140 out there too, so I wanted to make sure I had plenty of 'Oomph'

100 amp service is probably overkill, but I wanted to make sure I could run anything I needed to out there :notsure:

I hear ya, I would love to have a fully powered garage but I don't have room on my main panel and it's a really small garage. It's more of an oversized shed. I just want to be able to run a few basic power tools and have some light. Any power tools I have are only used one at a time, largest draw is the power impact.

These are the same people who were applying a special coating to their trucks a couple years ago when were down at rausch creek. The coating was supposed to protect against scratches.

    I see.
The problem I had before we ran power was that I was running my garage on a 100 foot extension cord hooked to a 20 amp GFI in the house. It worked fine for one tool at a time, but if I was running my lathe, my compound mitre or my table saw and the air compressor kicked on then there was a 50/50 chance that it'd kick the safety on the outlet and everything would stop. :frusty:
I spent a lot of time running back and forth resetting that damn outlet, so I went big when it was finally time to run the power supply, lol.

I've heard of that coating before; it's called 'Whacks' or something like that, right?

Did it work? Sounds like snake oil to me... If you don't want scratches, don't off road the new truck, haha.
I gotcha. I have all my big tools in the basement (woodworking tools). I don't do much in the garage, just soldering gun, heat gun and the impact.

I had my truck opticoated since it's black. It doesn't protect against scratches necessarily, but it protects against swirl marks and light things. Also I don't have to wax anymore. Water beads right off and the truck def stays cleaner longer

How long have you had it on and who did it? I was debating putting that on at one point but the price scared me away.

I use that Liquid Glass stuff on my Toyota. Only been applying it once per year, and it stays super easy to clean off. Seems like it helps to prevent new scratches, too. I've driven down my family's camp road and scraped up against some branches expecting to have some new pinstriping, but I haven't found any new marks in the 2 years that I've had it. :notsure:
    Goes on easy, too.

Everything else just gets Turtlewax Hard Shell.

It was some roll on crap. Here they are applying it in the hotel parking lot.

    lol.
Next time you go out you should see if you can convince them that two layers of saran wrap held on with PAM will protect their paint from scratches.

Put it on when I bought it so a couple months. Supposed to last about ten years. My friend Alex who owns driven perfection did it. I have a lot of friends with exotic cars who always have it put on theirs
