How do the seat coolers work?
Do they go off your AC?

They are on there own separate switch.
3 levels of Heat and 3 levels of Cool.

Absolutely LOVE them and won't have a rig without them again lol
My only complaint is the light when they are on is too bright at night — I always cover it up with my hat or something.

Switches are next to the cup holder:

i guess my question is how does it get the "cool" part like is it hooked up under the seat to the feet vents or goes it generate its own some how

I'm really considering them I am always hot in the seat an would kill to have them even over the heat

The seats are completely reupholstered and there is cooling/heating inserts in the lower back and ass area. It has nothing to do with the factory air system. It is a stand alone system. I can't tell you the technical way it cools/heats I just know it works lol There are a lot of different brands and kits out there that might operate differently. The upholstery does have to be perforated in order to allow the air to pass through. I love the cooling option so much I turn it on in the winter also!

I feel I would be that way too I'm always very warm so the cooled seats would be my best friend!
I'm going to have to look into this system!
And with it being heated the lady will most likely approve of it:thumbsup:

So what about removing the switch shell and using a smoke colored dip or a tint film on the inside to reduce the brightness?

There are a few options to remedy it... I just don't care enough to take the time to do anything about it lol

    Update to the sPOD:

I'm matching a little more now with a Black housing for the touchscreen :)

Took it all out to snap a photo of the Source unit (as requested) and some much needed cleaning... then this morning my son asked me to make a big splash in a puddle on the way to daycare... ugh! There went my clean engine bay for less than 24 hours lol

Hey Sean, how'd you do the black frame? Is that an option? Paint/Plastidip?

The sPOD with touchscreen is something I have been considering since viewing your build. However, because it is a small touch screen device, it resembles a GPS device and can attract unwanted attention here in San Francisco. I am wondering if I will need to remove it every time I park or If I can just mount it to a non conspicuous area.

When I first got mine they came in a raw aluminum finish, now they come in the Black finish. I have been considering having it hydrodipped in MultiCam though.

Do people still steal those? I would just suggest moving to a place with less shady people lol
But you can mount these anywhere in the vehicle — I just used a Ram mount that suctions to the window.
It's just one cable that runs into the cab so literally you can mount it anywhere you want.

The RAM window mount is what I was considering. I like the placement of yours, as well.
I live in a nice area but unfortunately cannot always park in one. Driving and parking in SF will make your blood boil!

Color the LED with a Sharpee. That should dim it just a bit.
