What call are y'all talking about? I was at the game... It's difficult to see all the bad/good calls from the stands. I'm gonna watch the game on my DVR tomorrow, but tonight it's all about celebrating the (luck) victory!
Pretty much. Was stuck in traffic FOREVER, though, really. If you don't live here... T-town is about 50 min from B'ham w/ no traffic. There were a few thousand extra cars on the road tonight.

    Yeah, but we didn't.

A good friend (AU fan, actully) had a great quote tonight. He said "to be a champion you have to be both good and lucky. Y'all have been good this season. Tonight you were lucky."

Whatever works... Win by 2, win by 20.... a win is a win. Mark Ingram owes Mount Cody a big fat kiss.

Bama's still rollin'. That's what matters.

Y'all have a good night. I'm off to drink more. ROLL TIDE!

I STILL haven't watched the replay, so maybe we should have had an excessive celebration penalty.... but phuck that, we stopped the vols.

I thought WV showed some really class when they played UConn. I liked how the stadium clapped as UConn took the field. :proposetoast:

and on a side note USF cannot win in October

i was at that game and when they held the moment of silence you could of heard a pin drop. i was proud of our fans cause usually when it get quite like that somebody yells "Fuck Pitt" or "Eat shit Pitt" or something like that. and that backfield is even faster lookin in person.... unreal

OK... So I've watched the replay a few times now, and they definitely could have called Cody for the helmet thing. BUT... I noticed a couple of things that would have made the call pretty ticky-tacky. First, the clock was actually at zero when he took it off. The shot they use during a replay shows him and the clock behind the uprights far behind him. It was as if he timed it perfectly. As the clock hit zero, the helmet came off.

I don't know the rules about blocked field goals and whether the ball was still live or not. If the ball was still live, then I guess he technically did take it off during the game. (One of our players eventually went to the ball, picked it up and took a knee, but that was a few seconds after Cody had started going nuts.)

Second... The helmet was knocked funny on his head during the play. Players are allowed to remove their helmet to adjust it. OBVIOUSLY that's not what he was doing, but it was cockeyed on his head before he took it off.

After what happened last week and the week before with celebration penalties affecting the outcomes of games, I think the refs probably swallowed their whistles to avoid affecting the outcome of a game over a call like that. I don't think anybody (even Vol fans) would really want that kind of call to decide a game.

For the record, I LOVE Terrence Cody. All 355 lbs of him.
