That's the start of your jig to make to lower arms, right? Then the 2 pivot points there replicate what is on the truck frame? Looks cool, man! Often a full size drawing is the best way to eliminate confusion. At the small weld shop I used to work at we sometimes made full size drawings on the floor with soap stone of stair stringers, platforms, or whatev.

Be safe on your assignment! Lookin forward to moar updates!

Hey thanks! Yea I'm going to get it in the computer eventually, but the paper thing is the best for right now, easier cause it feels more tangible if that makes sense. Also, I used to fabricate bicycle frames for a short while and that's how we designed frames was drafting them, old school but works

Maybe you could weld that portion of the jig to a large steel plate. It would keep warpage under control and allow a place to mount the ball joint cup.

I want the jig portable, gunna T off each side to pick up the outer pivot then gusset the T's triangularly with smaller box tube, I think it'll be sturdy enough, prolly tack it to my table on the ends too for good measure

When it comes to jig making the sturdier the better. The pulling of metal from warpage can be significant. It is conceivable that the forces of warpage could distort the jig if the welding is substantial and the jig is lightweight. It sounds like you have a plan, don't be shy with the gussets!

I agree! I just recently finally got myself a good tig welder. Found a nice lightly used Thermal Arc GTSW 300. I love it! Man ever since welding school almost 10 years ago I've wanted a good welder at home. All I'm missing now is somekind of milling machine. A few years ago I was lucky enough to find an old Atlas 10" lathe. It even has the milling attachment! It works for small stuff but it's not very rigid and has its limitations. But it's really nice to have access to that kind of equipment, you can do almost anything!
