As far as a Mod day goes; I've looked at my weekends in August and, most importantly, discussed with my wife the best time to host a mod day. I'll look at September weekends shortly and will likely start a new thread for this Wrench Fest/Mod Day in the coming days....BUT until then, here are the dates in August that work.

I am happy to host August 15th (Saturday) or August 23rd (Sunday) at my house in Troy, OH. As I've experienced on wrench days for my motorcycle, I'd also be up for grilling out and having some beers! Troy is about an hour and 15mins from both Columbus and Cincinnati and 3 hours from Cleveland, for perspective.

I took quite a few photos from the trip this past weekend as well and will hopefully have some more time to post up in the next couple of days...I need to filter out the ones of Gavin...I don't want all the attention he's getting to go to his head!

    Takes one to know one:devil:

Very nice of you to offer to host! Mod day cook out would be a good time I'm sure. Not sure how long my OME kit will take to ship, but looking forward to putting it on when it gets here. Not sure we could do 3-4 suspension kits in one mod day though:rolleyes:

In the meantime, I'm going to rip my exhaust apart and see what I can do to improve it.

Embarrassing fun fact.. noticed my fuel gauge stopped working after we wheeled Wills Creek:anonymous:
    Found out why:

Ignore the disintegrated state of the gas skid, that's old news. The bent tank on the other hand...:cookiemonster:

Worst part is I had a 3/8in steel gas tank skid in the basement. Hadn't put it on yet because I was letting my rattlecan work dry first:facepalm:

I don't wanna hear a word outa any of you, yall were the ones holdin the cameras you're all enablers!

Looks like everyone had fun. But, I hope you were not in posted places. That's how places get CLOSED. AEP has done it before. And it was for several years, no hunting or fishing, nothing. Please respect no vehicle access posted areas. And have your AEP permits.

No permit required there and we didn't / don't trespass. Permits only needed on the southern, more " developed" areas and camp sites, and if there was a " no vehicles" ODNR sign we didn't enter.

There is no trails around here open to the public on ODNR lands or AEP Recreation lands. You have to go to the pay - to - play places. And its clear that some of what you were on was not open. AEP does require a users permit for all of their recreation lands. And no off road use permitted.

I hate to be this way about this, but AEP has closed places down before. People were too lazy to walk to ponds at another area and made trails to them. Then someone in the main office used Google Earth they didn't like all the off road trails that they saw. They closed down the area for years and I do mean years. There was no hunting, fishing, boating not even foot traffic nothing... And when they did open it up they only opened maybe half of the roads to vehicles. And it might happen again with the lack respect to the areas. And I am not just talking about Wills Creek and the Conesville Public Recreation area. I'm talking about all ODNR and AEP lands.

A few can ruin a good thing for everyone. And it has happened before. Have you tried to find a farmer that has their own trails?

What are your sources for this info? I assume you are local as you reference "around here".

I have it on the authority of Coshocton County law enforcement (because I specifically asked the sheriff's office) that the section of Wills Creek east of SR 83, between 83 and 93, is no motorized vehicle access. The section west of 83, between Wills Creek (town) and 83, which encompasses the dam, power line trail, numerous ponds, etc., is all open access. There are only a handful of DNR "no motorized vehicle signs" and for the most part, those appear to be respected, as the trails diminish significantly on the other side of any of the signage. Several legit enduros and dual sports have been routed through Wills Creek in recent years and those organizers specifically noted that riders were not to use anything east of 83 as it was restricted and patrolled, but west was the route and was acceptable use. The west trails are generally "hunting" access roads and trails and are explicitly noted as legal in the DNR documents describing WC.

Additionally, AEP does not manage Wills Creek. Though the lands are marked (on 83, with one sign only) as AEP ReCreation Lands, that signage is actually north of the creek and the section we are describing is part of the MWCD which is zealous about protecting assets - meaning that if the section was closed to vehicles, it'd be signed, gated, and there would be rangers running amok.

I can absolutely respect the concern that you have for keeping land available for our use and not overstepping our bounds. As a group of people that enjoy offroading and exploring the outdoors we are ambassadors for outdoors people in the area and it is in our best interest to take every precaution possible when we schedule meets or go solo exploring. For this most recent meet we were lucky enough to have @MeefZah along with us who has an extensive knowledge of the area and had already done the precursory research to ensure that our meet was both safe and legal.

I truly appreciate how serious you are about this and very much hope that we can have you along for the next meet!:)

I'm right there with meef and wheelin. We don't want to ruin the fun for everybody. We definitely don't wanna be the ones responsible for closing down parks because we were jack asses and tearing stuff up. I don't want that hangin over my head. How ever meef had taken the extra time and made sure that we didn't do anything illegal or frowned upon. Except for the dust... we do appreciate your concerns about this but we won't be the people responsible for trespassing, neglect, and abuse to private and or public property.
