What about the SR5? That's what I'm leaning towards.

What will the fuel economy be when you are using Crawl Control at 1mph?

I did hear from a dealer trainer that MPG should be best-in-class.

No, the 16 is going to get terrible mileage because the dealership still has twenty 15s on the lot...

It wasn't a salesman. It was the guy that relays the info from Toyota corporate on to dealers, who in turn relay it onto their sales people. But yes, it was just hearsay. I have no way to validate what he said until we hear the actual EPA estimates.

It's looking like we will find out the mpg #s when we go up to an actual 2016 Tacoma and see the window sticker. If it got better than the Colorado it would already be out there. I thought March and April was already pushing it with no announcement. Then June and July came and went and still nothing. When Tacoma #s finally come out GM will release the Colorado diesel #s and get people talking about that instead.

I'm surprised there's so much fandom here for the Colorado's MPG when it's real world numbers are closer to the 2nd gen Tacoma and it's rated for 25 MPG. I bet the Tacoma will be pretty spot on just like always.

Some specs, perhaps fuel economy will be out Aug 17th according to this. Possible it's just power specs and not fuel specs just yet.

Edmunds longterm test of the 2015 4WD Z71 Colorado MPG: http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/co...2000-miles-lifetime-average-holds-steady.html

12,413 miles, best tank 20mpg, worst tank 13.8mpg, avg lifetime 17.7mpg.

The Colorado model of truck Edmunds bought: http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/colorado/2015/long-term-road-test/introduction.html

Toyota is probably lol'ing at those numbers. Lighterweight Tacoma should top those numbers easily.

I agree. Atkinson cycle + lighter weight + new transmission + better aero = better MPG than Colorado.

Concur. That Chevy best tank rating is shameful in comparison to sticker numbers..."most highway" and still only getting 17-19 MPG...out of a rated 24 MPG? OUCH.

What I like about Toyota is they don't play games like "beat the best horsepower number". To me, that means for MPG they are likely to work to improve real-world, all-situation economy and efficiency, rather than simply target the EPA number that will be plastered on a sticker. I hold out hope that the new Tacoma will post real world numbers much closer to it's EPA rating.
