You don't have less uptravel...you have more. Yes it's a longer shock body, but the lower rod end is pushed out farther on the LCA.

? Say you set a MT at 3 inches of lift and then set a LT at 3 inches of lift. The stock length suspension needs to be forced down much more to sit at 3 inches (more room to uptravel, less downtravel) but with the better angles of a LT setup you sit at a much more reasonable balance between uptravel and downtravel. Am I wrong?

I really wanted to crawl around that Brownie build when I was at the Overland west this year. Unfortunately it was floating in a moat of lake mud so that made figuring out how they stuffed 37s on stock bedsides not possible.

I'm excited for the evolution of this build! What does your rear set up look like now? Will you be doing a spring under or keep it spring over in the future?

Try not to think 2 dimensionally (just the shock). The shock doesn't sit in the same place on the LCA as it does with MT.
Rather think in terms of percent. At 3" of lift, there is x percent of shock shaft left for uptravel, the rest is downtravel...but since your arms are extended z inches, wheel travel increases both directions.

You have more overall travel with extended arms. Up/down is an artifact of preload. I personally don't care about how high the truck is lifted. I added pre-load till I got the amount of uptravel I wanted. I'm a 75/25 kind of guy for the wheeling I do.

Sticking with spring over as I am going for an overland build not a jumper. Plus I need it to carry alot of wieght. I am really happy with my dakars plus the add a leaf and a bamf shock relocation with 12" fox resis.

How much shock shaft (basically how much up travel can you have with the shock) when you are fully loaded? On this last trip I only had about 3" of shaft left before I bottomed out the shock.. Seems like the shocks are to long or I need more rear lift. Wonder if thats the same with your fox's as it is with my kings. If that makes sense..

So you have the BAMF relocate also. I'm going to have to pick your brain if you don't mind

Me? I do but seems like my 12" kings are to long, or I need more rear lift so I don't bottom out the shock.

my Icons are too short even though they were for a 6" lift and have had the spacer removed. My shackles dont even extend before I run out of shock.

I want to go with 12" King smoothies and a hoop/ relocate. I just want to see if you guys have been able to achieve full droop from an aftermarket leaf pack this way.

Ah I see. So for me, I should be shooting for about just the opposite of you... Moar droop!

I extended my bumpstops 2" inches with my BAMF relocated otherwise you will bottom out your shock prematurely on stock bumps

I can get all but 1" of droop out of my shocks, which is fine with me because I don't need limit straps so I don't over extend the shock.

I'll need to extend my bump stops here soon.

I can crush my bumps before bottoming out my shock and my leaf pack is not limited by my shock travel. @JLee did a great job.
