    What's up fellas?

First time starting a thread on here. I'm a frequent visitor on TN, but this site is more active and has less BS. I've done some searching here and on TN, but can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

I'm looking for some day and night shots of tinted '09 tails. I'm also looking for those pics to have the lights on and off. I'm curious to see what the light output of the LEDs is when the parking lights are on and when the brake is applied. Thanks in advance.

No need to see '05-'08 tinted tails... i've seen thousands of those.

The '09 is the first year with red LED's behind a clear lens for the brake lights.

I'd be interested in seeing pics of tinted '09 tails too.

I have been thinking about doing this. One of these days I am going to take them off and have a good look at them. Hopefully they will come apart just as easy as the fronts with a little oven heat. If so, the chrome will be going black. I really hate the chrome, it just screams rice.

If I think of it, I will take some pics next time I am out at night, although someone may beat me to it.

the taillights don't come apart as easy as the headlights. they do come apart, but it's definitely quite the process.

just checked out his gallery. his tails really aren't what i'm looking for. i'm looking more for the professional spray job. plus, i'm looking for the lights to be on bc i'm more curious about the light output. thanks for the help though.

You won't find many here who have had the tails tinted professionally. There are a lot who have done it themselves and it looks professional, but it only costs the price of a can of spray tint. I'm sure if you search through the threads about tinted tails that there'll be one with the lights on. And the light output on a tinted taillight will be proportional to how many coats of tint are applied.

    Keep looking, and good luck.

I got a set of the gunsmoke lamin-x films on my tails. Mind you the pre cut kits dont fit, I had to order sheets and cut to fit myself. That said - was an ugly process, too many peaks and valleys and required a lot of stretching, which left stretch marks on the film.

Dumb guy question just to tag along on the thread - for shooting them yourself, is it at all possible to use a light coat of the manufacturer color regular paint? I'm thinking about trying that on my third brake light and if it looks good, rip off the lamin-x and do the tails too. I have no idea, my satoshi is the first thing I ever painted.

Ill try to remember to do some light pics later. My only complaint is the reverse lights really got blocked out, used to be nice and bright, now they barely do anything.

^ put a modified 886 bulb in for a reverse light and your problem will be solved. 55 watts of light. i've had mine in my reverse lights since Feb. and no problem yet.
