Nissan can afford to put one in their trucks... with the Tacoma however, we're already $2,000-$3,000 increase from Gen 2 to Gen 3, you can certainly expect an additional $2,000-$3,000 on top of that for a Diesel Tacoma... Since the Frontier doesn't have the reputation of the Tacoma, they will have to compete by lower pricing... personally I welcome the competition, hopefully it will lower the prices, however with the new GM twins it actually RAISED the market pricing. No one knows... but the next few years will get very interesting for this once forgotten mid size segment.

Who knows maybe Honda will surprise us and come out with a decent Ridgeline. VW might bring the Amarok to North America.

I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
If VW brings Diesel armorok in US that will be the end...
Nobody can compete with their Diesels.. as long as the ydont make that Armorok in Brazil..

So they are supposed to quickly build up a whole new engine based on Taco specs in time for 2016 release. Normally I'd say thats not possible but Nissan has a history of slapping shit together quickly and paying the price with low quality.

Who knows, maybe they'll just go the car/van motor route and drop in the 332 HP 3.7L from the 370Z. Tuned a little differently for a pickup truck of course.

I was following a new Mexican Ranger on the highway not even an hour ago. Interesting. I think that could make more trouble for the Tacoma than the Colorado/Canyon and Frontier combined ever could.

I still choose Tacoma, but, y'know...

Funny you say that, cause the new Diesel Ranger is also in the Dominican Republic and it also looks very good... Curious what changes NA market will make to it.

The amarok has the least truck engine from all the diesel trucks sold worldwide. Who wants to hassle with 2 turbos going bad?

Most people don't have reliability as a top buying criteria. That's why the Ram ecodiesel sells and it's complete shit. Also the Ford 2.7L and 3.5L twin turbos can be a can of worms. The Ram ecoshitdiesel came out and people jumped on it based on the good mpg ratings. Sadly, alot of people buy this way.

A lot. Check out my build page.
That Nissan looks awful. Its better than the current model I suppose. I for one am pretty happy with the new Tacoma. Aside of the brake lights. Hate those things. Otherwise I quite like the 2016. This Frontier looks very low to the ground, awful approach angle, and very plastic. The low height and terrible wheel well clearance of the Frontier has always been an issue. Looks like it will continue to be.

I'm not sure if this was a serious post or a trolling post. It's hard to tell these days.
