There are a LOT of people who want the DCLB manual. More than just 10-15. I hear from people all the time who want this configuration.

yes you hear a lot, but in the end, the sales numbers don't jive with the want :)

just like how everyone wants a single cab but don't actually buy it and now its gone due to very low demand. and remember demand has to be the several 1000's to justify the production line waste to make those instead of the more popular models. when your pushing on avg in the last 3-4 years about 140k of Tacoma's, its wasted money to make only 500-1000 of those unique models.

BTW, I have yet to hear an official reason as to why there is no manual DCLB. Just people speculating on forums. I even asked a Tacoma rep and he did not know.

Sweers said in his interview that they are at maximum production. When you have a customer pool that is deeper than the number of products you have, then you produce whatever you can sell the most of. The reason why they don't make a DCLB MT is because they don't have to. They can, and do, make them all automatics and sell them all. They aren't losing any sales by not offering the MT. And they would lose sales if they did offer the MT because even if they still sold them all, they would be selling fewer because switching configurations reduces production capacity.

In the future if the midsize truck market gets saturated and you see Tacomas sitting on the lots for months collecting dust even with lots of factory discounts then you might start to see these kinds of features start to get added in an attempt to appeal to a broader customer base and lure customers from other brands.

Except Toyota has never offered a manual DCLB ever since the DCLB was offered in the gen 2 in 2005.

I guess all those Canadian 4x4 ACLB/DCLB manuals must be all fake, and btw you can still option those very models in the 2015 version.

Again I will say there has never been a DCLB manual offered. Not sure what you just posted but "standard package" does not mean standard transmission. Show me a picture of one and not a computer screenshot. I don't see DCLB anywhere on that either.

Agreed, some people who can only drive automatics don't understand why people prefer a manual.

Notice how it doesnt specify bed length and also how it says image may be different from reality. Again, show me a REAL DCLB manual transmission.

All of the Double Cab manual transmissions in Canada and the United States are the short box.
