I drove eighty miles to buy a grey and ended up liking the black better so I bought it. I did not want white and that is all my local dealer had. My point is don't settle if you don't want it even if you get added incentives to take it. You will regret it.

White looks trashy in a base model, in my opinion. It
Will look like just another work truck.

They have your down payment, they have the paperwork, hold out for grey and ask for another 1K or more off the price of the truck.

I've had two Fords screwed up on arrival from the factory and in both instances I got the vehicle I ordered and a better price because of the screw up.

Hold out for what you want, and when it gets to bad call CORPORATE, not the dealer.

I missed the 'I'm getting a base 4X2'. Don't get fleet white then, it will look like shit. Just saying.

My choice was silver or gray. I chose silver. The new silver is richer than it was on my 2012.

White looks like a corporate rig. Unless it's built up.

That thought alone would make me ill. Regardless of color............

To the OP. I agree with all those you suggest you get what you want.

I did go with white, because that's what I wanted. While some of the other colors actually make the truck look better, I shopped for white (was shopping used) for a few specific reasons. Many based around the fact I intend to keep the truck many years. Like up to 20 or so.

White is not clear coated. Meaning paint is easier to work (polishing, etc) as it ages.

This is a solid white (no pearl / mica content) so repair of a panel is easy for a good shop to match w/o having to 'blend' half the truck.

White is cooler. White holds up better in the Florida sun sitting out all the time. White doesn't attract the eye as much of the stupid kids who like to jack glitz. In my 'ugly' base trim, ie 'fleet truck look' as some others decry, I also don't attract the eye of the local constabulary as much.

Again, not a white sales job here. Just my reasons for shopping white.

Even though my wife was not happy with my color choice. :D

hail damage, other dents and dings, the worst of it is the greasy door edges ( was a tech vehicle )

It's a 50 footer, looks decent from 50 feet, get closer and you can see the history and experience ooze from it's pores...

Get what you wanted, it will nag at you if you don't

nanoskin autoscrub (you'll never use claybar again!)

Since your truck does not have clearcoat, you'll be amazed what a proper paint cleaning (the nano skin followed by a stepped polishing process) and final wax will do. Not to hard to make it a 25 footer if you want to. :)

    I'll check that out

Being its just an ugly work truck I was going to wash well then maybe wrap the whole thing.
In negotiations with wife now about color. Dunno why I even let that happen, she stolen 4Runner from me. Had to buy this so I had my own damn truck !

I really like my white Baja. But I went and test drove a MGM then saw them unloading the Baja's from the truck. As soon as I test drove it I wanted it lol. But.... because baja.

Still regret not going Grey and building my own baja though. I like white cars, but not as much white trucks... and I keep having to change little things to make me line mine more and more.

Hold out for the color you want. I waited 6 weeks for my dealer to order EXACTLY the truck I wanted. The only place I gave him wiggle room was the interior color. Well worth it.

There are a couple more options. You could always negotiate the price of a plane ticket into the deal and fly to New Hamster and drive it home. Or you could negotiate to have an independent auto transport company ship it to you....

I flew to Miami and drove home with a used MINI Cooper JCW. That was just where the car was that I wanted.

Good luck I hope you can get what you want. I was thinking about a 2015 but I really want red. It seams like there are only white and silver here in California.

There were 3 red dcsb at the dealer here in NM. I know it is a bit of a hike, but doable (they went 260 miles to get mine for me).
