FYI for anyone interested, the plastic flashing is $70'ish from the topper place. But, I used a $10 roll of the rubber garage door stuff that goes at the bottom, riveted it to the same mounting location as the flashing and it seals much better than new.

hey ya ur and my shortbeds are the same, but I didn't see yest. that the back aluminum on the bottom of the door is broke? that would make it easy to break into.have u checked how much a new door would cost? I would have to [paint it,but we own a bodyshop.

it would not be any harder to break into with that piece replaced than it is with it broken If you are concerned about how easy it is to break into you might look into a topper with a full gate door that is not all glass.

aren't the rods that hook to the latch just right there above that part? they are on my old topper on my farm pickup.i know the tailgatesets right up there but its easy to reach a wire thru that way and pull the latch. I still like it and am interested just wondered if u had got a price check on a new rear door? only time id ever lock it is when we go the the big towns.

they are and all it takes is a screwdriver and you can get them open when locked but I have not looked in to a new door my self.
sorry if I sounded like an A** did not mean it that way I just have had to get in to a few of my old toppers that way after losing the key.

oh no, no problem I prolly sounded like one of them guys that picks out all the little flaws to try and demean the product just to try to get cash off, that's not it at all. I know what these are worth and what urs is. so no problems

Didn't have a chance to post before I left, but I looked on Amazon and stopped in at Jax (outdoor, not farm, though I'm sure both carry them) up here and the price was about the same. Seems to run $65-85 for a 48". You might find a deal/sale. Or a deal on CL. I see two at 60 and two at 45 right now. Bit of a difference if you want cast/steel vs all cast vs the Extreme.
