OK, so, for 2016 in California region if the previously pointed to spec sheets (from Jalopnik) are to be believed, a DCLB MT will be an order-able option (see sheet 3); however, if you look at the % of series and average per month they intend to manufacture both are 0. Not sure if that means you can order one or not. I would hope you can order one but that you just won't find one laying around on the dealer lots b/c Toyota thinks it would be a low demand vehicle.

Why do you think DCLB MT would be available? Almost certainly won't be - the Off-Road Longbed is AT almost certainly. At least based on another document that leaked earlier.

Yes but maybe a different region might be getting it or maybe they will build it on demand.

I agree. I am not sure and my dealer today was not sure that he could actually get DCLB OR FP -- or -- DCLB OR HH - he said he is supposed to be able to but can not tell if they will allocate it or not. I guess allocations happen on the first and the 15th every month. He said he was going to call his Toyota rep and try to find out but was not sure. So ... th backup plan is DCLB Sport FP TC which looks like it will get built.

How do you conclude that there is a DCLB with a manual transmission? There are 5 total longbed configs on those two sheets. Two 2WD options, V6 SR5 and V6 Sport. Those will both be autos because all 2wd are autos.

There are three 4x4 longbed options. V6 SR5, TRD-OR, and Sport. The transmission type isn't listed explicitly because they are auto by default. Note that anything that has a MT label has an AT companion, and they differ in model number by +1 or -1.

Several models have 0% allocations, like the Dcab V6 SR. That means it is being built, but none are being sent to that region. Those you could set up some kind of dealer trade and get one way or another. So what I'm saying that if the configuration isn't listed on that sheet, it isn't available anywhere (in this country). Sorry to shit on your dreams.

I know of one exception. The 4x4 V6 Accesscab TRD-OR MT is not listed on that sheet, but it will be available in Canada. The same people that told me that also said there is no 4x4 DCLB TRD-OR MT in Canada either. All longbeds are autos.

No worries. I think we are all just angry from waiting ten years for a soft redesign.

I stand corrected - I would have sworn thats what I saw but re-reading you are correct. My dealer was explaining the zero allocations business as he tries to get me a DCLB OR FP - he knows it can be built just not sure if he can get them to build one for me. So it may end up being Sport not OR since they are building more of those per allocation. Thanks for the additional insight into the allocation process - didn't understand the regional part of it.

yeah each region has different allocation options that they can get. just like in the 4runners, certain options you cant get unless you go to another region. big one on 4runners is trail edition with KDSS. I see a lot of posts about not being able to get it, but if you goto the mountain region, you can them.

New England Region -- Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island
Greater New York Region -- New York, New Jersey, Connecticut
Central Atlantic Region -- Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Delaware, District of Columbia
Western Region -- Missouri, Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota
Ohio Valley Region -- Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee
Midwest Region -- Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Minnesota
Mountain Region -- Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Wyoming
Northern CA Region -- California north of the Los Angeles metro area
Southern CA Region -- Los Angeles metro area, and areas south
Pacific Northwest Region -- Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana

these 2 regions do not follow Toyota USA rules, they have their own rules.

Gulf States Region (also known as GST) -- Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi
Southeast Region (also know as SET) -- North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida

Any chance they'll offer the option to get color keyed fender flares on the TRD OR? Don't have a huge issue with the grey/black plastic, but I'd rather not have to worry about the fender flares fading...

If you want the Offroad but don't like the black fender flares. Why don't you get them painted body colour?

Does anyone have any experience with the first gen OR? Those had black overfenders, I'm wondering what they look like after 15 years of sun.
