A heavy duty steel bumper is going on mine just as soon as the aftermarket develops one. I'd rather protect my truck.

Making bumpers for the 2016 with be a PITA. The bumper comes up to right below the headlight and none of the lines are straight. It'll be a while before someone had one that fits well and looks good.

if they can do it for the 2014+ 4runners, they can do it for the Tacoma's. have you seen the font end below the headlights or the front end in general. :)

Yes, in person when it was in Cochane, Alberta. It's not whether or not it can be done. It's more getting it to look right without having the look of those cheesy iron cross bumpers everyone throws on their large Diesels. With the headlights being far higher than the grill and the bumper filling in that space it will take some thought to design the aftermarket bumper so that it looks good.

It is in the radio/screen/dash what ever they call that thing now. So it's still there.

IIRC on the 15 there is no temperature sensor. The temperature in the radio comes from weather radio and if you live in a remote area it doesn't work at all. I thought it was pretty stupid of Toyota to go that way and the 2016 I got into seemed to have the temperature back in the mirror.

Here's a picture of the 2016 mirror I took that seems to show a temperature display is in the mirror. (Upper right corner of the mirror there is a dark spot.)

bleh. Temp sensor is kinda silly to me.

There are 3 true temperatures: Effin' Hot, Nice and Effin' Cold.

Spoken like a true 1st gen owner :D

Temperature sensors are nice in the winter to know if the air temp is at or below freezing. Sometimes in my are it can be above freezing in one area and way below freezing 20 miles away.

nothing a cutoff wheel couldn't fix, me personally would have no problem cutting into that gawd awful looking grill..even if it is a brand new truck.

Shrockworks has a decent bumper for the 4Runner already.

Yes, with some cutting of the bumper it would make the lines easier to follow. Most bumpers aim for bolt on compatibility though.

Again, I'm not saying there won't be bumpers, but I'd expect some delay before we see something bolt on that fits and looks good due to the design of the front bumper.

    LOL.

I'd rather no roll down my window in the winter every 20 minutes to see what it's like outside. TBH if you travel to MT this winter when the wind is blowing you'll understand how that temperature gauge can be a nice option. I agree that it's not something though that would influence my buying decisions, but just like homelink, it is a feature I like :D.

What do you mean "already"? 5th gen 4runner has been out since 2010. Or do you mean "already" in the sense with minor tweaks it would fit the gen3 taco?
