Slotted brake rotor advice

    Anybody here on TW ever put these style rotors on their trucks? Not liking the distance im travelling with the stock set up and im just about due for a new set and trying to do some homework on this. Any help would be appreciated.

    I have the EBC dimpled and slotted rotors and they're great. They can be had on Amazon for ~160 a pair IIRC.

    Im going to start with stainless brake lines all around,then rotors and pads later on. I'm interested if feedback from people that have upgraded. It's good to keep the rear brake shoes adjusted every 15k also,that keeps a good pedal feel.

    I've got DBA rotors and yellow stuff pads. Love them, although it's a real stomp on the pedal for a very cold stop.

    The slots do help in the mud or deep water.

    Yellow stuff dusts like a mother, especially in city traffic. I get over 30k miles out of a set thought.

    Plus yellow stuff, plus stainless braided lines, plus ABS killswitch........
    While some of u have tire chatter and buzzing and pulsing, im throwing smoke and doing some real stopping.

    I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma
    ATE makes excellent stuff. They are original equipment on BMW and other brands. These rotors are a nice upgrade. I had them on my old Bimmer and VW

    I'm going to need a set of rotors on my 13 and I am contemplating on getting stock ones or should i buy a set of EBC yellow pads cause i was reading up that they are good if you haul stuff. Which is better in your guys opinion?

    New Navigation DVD/CD/TV/AV/Bluetooth Stereo and seat mod spacers, 1" hubcentric spacers, seat heaters....
    drilled and slotted here, with ceramic pads...rotor are so cheap I just replace them every other pad change, or sooner if vibration rears its ugly head....you can feel the slots on brake pedal when stopping hard, but you get used to it...

    What is the benefit of the slotted? I've always had good results with standard centric rotors.

    Also, I was pretty dissapointed with my last set of ebc green pads, they lasted less than 30,000 miles and dusted a decent amount. I went with akebono last time and so far less dust and equal brakin.

    Drilled can crack....... Keep an eye on them.
    Ceramic pads need to warmup to be optimum, that's why I don't run them......
    Whenni hit the pedal, I want immediate bite.

    Slotted rotors give water or gas a way to get out from under the pads more quickly.

    Water is only an issue of the rotors are cold and wet (long stretches of highway in the rain, or crawling through the swamp).

    Gas is only an issue if you're cooking the hell out of your pads (racing or mountains). If you're worried about outgassing from your pads, you also need to worry about boiling your brake fluid.

    I've got about 45,000 miles on regular NAPA rotors and pads. Starting to get just a little bit of pulsing while stopping and the pads are starting to dust more than when they were new. I'll probably replace with the same.

    "Premium" rotors and organic pads, which I don't see listed anymore on NAPA's website.
