Truck is throwing that damn P0101 code!! (SOLVED)

    Hey nova did you try cleaning the throttle body yet? The code is for a calculated maf error and since these trucks dont run a map(right?) that leaves rpm, throttle position and meeeebbe baro pressure but I doubt since its sc'd

    Yes that is correct but I only took it maybe a 1/4 mile down and back to check the AFR. I did not hook up the scan tool to see if I had any pending codes afterwards. This all started after cleaned air filter and I attempted to change the snout coupler on the S/C. I did not get to drive it much after putting it back together because I had to return to work out of state I work 21 days on (out of state) and 7 days home, so by the time I get home I have a lot on my plate and working on the Tacoma gets pushed to bottom of list because its not my primary vehicle so it does set a lot sometimes months before I drive it again.

    I will get you the pictures when I return home in but it will not be for a few weeks unfortunately.

    Yes I have changed the filter since upgrading the pump. I can't remember when I changed it but I wanna say its been 2yrs.

    I really really appreciate all the help.

    I tagged you in another thread recently. Where another member contacted AFe to ask with filter they should use. They said the Oiled version is known to cause a code P0101, on MAF equiped vehicles. Problem practically solved.

    I swapped out my Pro Guard 7 for a Pro Dry S yesterday, as well as wiping out the intake tube and giving the MAF sensor a good cleaning with some CRC MAF sensor cleaner. After putting it all back together I took it out for a 60 mile round trip and even drove it this morning to the feed store. I'm happy to report that all the issues are now gone. The truck feels so much better power wise. I would like to thank you all for your help I really appreciate it!

    Figured this a good thread to jack. Currently having issues like OP with p0101 (maf performance problem), P0174 (driver side lean), P0171 (passenger side lean) and truck hesitating, high afr and lack of power. So far I have cleaned maf sensor- failed fix(FF). Replaced maf sensor-FF, tried a known working maf outta another truck- FF. Double cleaned the dry filter, throttle body cleaned, intake lines cleaned, vacuum leaks quadruple checked, removed rear O2 simulator all FF. Fuel trims seem to be running rich to my interpretation. At this point I'm really grasping at straws. Truck is 09 supercharged, AFE stage 2 intake with dry filter, no cats (O2 sim), oil catch can, Walboro 255 pump. Fuel filter less than a year old. My next plan is to remove the super and look inside for a dirty bypass and take the vacuum switching valve (VSV) apart to clean it if it appears dirty. Check PCV valve while I'm at it and pull injectors to make sure they are clean. If that all fails, I will buy a new fuel filter. If none of this resolves issue I honestly have no idea what to check next. Thoughts would be appreciated.

    Engine is running so lean- I'm not running it hard enough to get into the boost. I don't have a boost gauge but on the long way home from the offroad trip (where the problem started) I got on it a couple times and yes, it seemed boost was working then.

    Still thinking the aftermarket MAF, or wires have some thing involved with your issue.

    i had this code and it was when i have my buddy clean my filter for me he put WAY to much oil on it and it fucked the sensor.
    replaced with oem and cleaned filter and no oil and been fine since

    Where should I be checking wires? Obviously where the maf sensor is plugged in but anywhere else you got in mind? Maybe pull the ecm and check for corrosion you think?
