I live in Wyoming and I ride some pretty remote trails here and in Colorado. Never had an issue with dragging them behind me, but then again I usually bike into the gnarly parts instead of drive in. Bikes in beds just seem so awkward and a little 30 lbs bike can take up half the bed essentially if you have wide bars and bikes start falling in on each other. I see your point though. Good thing there are lots of options for bikes.

Most places a non issue. I usually ride the bike too but when I'm done and want to camp I like to be able to get off the main drag which often means really crappy conditions. At least your rack protects the rims - I've seen my fair share of destroyed bike rims on various incarnations of a rack mount from smashing the road crossing a wash or dip.

you know that actually isn't a bad idea. the gate is pretty cheap to replace and you have the added benefit of locking it in place since it wont move side to side :)

Some are elevated to give you more clearance. If not you can get a hitch elevator. I just like how hitch racks keep the bikes out of the way and free up cargo space.

Especially running down a wash board dirt road...have a couple of dirt bikes back there, I swear they beat the shit out of each worse than any where else, foot pegs are hell on swingarms. Though now, we run a tie-down off one of the foot pegs, to pull it back a bit, keeps the rears from hopping.

It's a shame it's not that pearl white, we get the same boring and lame super white. Toyota needs to bring some metallic to the color white for the Tacoma but probably not.

I want to see it in the offroad trim. I hope it looks good with the black fenders.

Anybody have the skills and time to Photoshop this wheel and tire package on a blazzing blue off road DCLB? I like the bottom wheel better but both look good in my opinion. There's plenty of limited blue but I only saw one off road package but the image was altered. I think that combination would look sweet...

I like both the White and the Quicksand.

Hard to decide which is the better colour.
