I'm shocked at how few ":luvya: you guys, I bought a Z71" threads there have been on here. I would of thought with all the interest on here and the decent stats of the new truck at least a dozen or more early 20 somethings, that love the negative equity, would of switched over the the shininess. I think I've seen two threads like that and that's it.

More like high profit-margin models that require no engineering investment. Makes business sense for GM because right now Colorado/Canyon sales seem fully constrained by mfg capacity. These trucks sit on dealers' lots for fewer days than Tacos, which is polar opposite to every other GM model.

If you later sat in your Taco, does it become tainted as well? :p

Funny enough some of the packages offered aren't that bad. I looked at one with the vinyl floors, V6, 4x4, Access Cab, Automatic, rear locker, and trailer package and it was $34K sticker. Still a lot but less than I thought for what I would consider basically and OR starting point.

They aren't government owned (Toyota got a loan too), $40k is what you will spend on the Z71 Diesel and the gas versions are in line with the 2016 Tacoma (have you seen the price sheet posted?) and we have never had a problem with a GM truck ever (though it isn't with out its faults); should we list the Tacoma faults???

    Hey, nice argument though

Hahahahaha, haha, ha, this isn't a GM forum? Get out of here I had no clue!

I very well might if it is a better truck than the Tacoma, but I am looking at both which is why I am here. Regardless of the many blind eye fanboys that will buy what ever kool aid Toyota pours for them I will weigh my options when it comes time, just looking at the stats and pics GM>Toyota at the moment, but getting behind the seat of both will be the determining factor. Just like I don't buy clothes without trying them on I won't buy a vehicle/toy without testing it out first.

More like SR5 starting point. The G80 requires 100 rpm speed difference to engage, so it functions more like an LSD than a locker.

Toyota got a bailout loan from the US gov't? Source? All I heard was the DOT shaking down Toyota for $1.2 billion for the bullshit unintended acceleration recalls. (More recently GM and FCAU got shaken down.)

So what? A 2015 SR5 costs more than 34K up here anyways. Plus the GM gets a real LSD, not computer shit. Sorry, I love my Tacoma and will probably buy another but GM has a way better starting point package.

Toyota received special financing from the Japanese government. This talks about the subsidies:

    Google Japan bails out automakers.

It wasn't the same as the GM bailout. GM had cash directly thrown at them. What Toyota had, was help from their government to secure funds so people could more easily borrow money from TFS during the height of economic turn-down.

Money is money my friend. Your comment was that Toyota received no bailout, when the Japanese government even referred to the financial support given to Toyota as a bailout.

Yes, GM needed the cash or else. Toyota could of shut down a few plants and gained the liquidity on their own. Is that a difference? Yes, but it's all in the way you look at it. Too me everyone needed help during that time and no one is innocent. Similar to how Ford took some government loans to stay competitive with Crysler and GM that were basically running off government money.

IMHO the US government should of let Chrysler fail. It would of been better for GM and Ford in the long run and Chrysler is producing shitty cars anyways.

They are too busy at that plant working 34 hours a day with -85 breaks an hour just to make enough Colorados

At least that's what GM says :D
