Billies and Eibachs, Camburg BJ UCAs, Demello hybrid sliders SOS HC rear bumper, SOS front bumper, Warn M80000, fully armored, Safari snorkel, No-slip locker, diff breather, bumper and roof mounted light bars, onboard Viair, 275/70 17 BFG ATs, and a badass sound system.
I have a set of Demello sliders on the way and have just ordered a front plate bumper. I'm looking to get a rear bumper shortly. I am thinking about a high clearance bumper but I'm a little nervous about trimming the body. I'm also planning to use the hitch for a 5,000 lb boat and a 4,000 lb trailer. As of now I'm leaninig toward the SOS rear HC bumper or the Bruteforce. I really like the look of the Relentless but the price is quite a bit higher there. Any thoughts as to whether or not to trim the bed? Any product recomendations?

No cutting for this version, but they don't supply a tow rating.

I was considering that exact bumper. No tow rating? Did you call or email them?

No, I didn't pursue the issue beyond what they say on their website.
I know a guy who tows with that bumper and it works fine for him. Not sure about the weight of his trailer.

That's the reason I'm leaning toward SOS they rate theirs as a class III towing hitch.

Look at the Pelfreybilt rear bumper. Not tow rated but have seen others tow 5000 pounds without issue.

I'm sure any bumper intended for use pulling a 4k lb truck out of a ditch or mud hole will be sufficient to pull a 5k lb boat on highway and out of a lake. I the prefy looks good too.

Those look pretty sweet. Has anyone installed a hig hclearance that requires trimming the bed? I like my spare where it is at the moment. If I keep it below the bed is it worth getting a high clearance bumper?

Pelfreybilt is nice. Mine is Standard clearance. Most smaller aftermarket wont rate their hitches due to liabilities and testing.

So I ended up buying a used high clearance bumper locally. I had to trim about 5" off the bottom of the bed but was told the bumper would clear my factory tailgate. It will not. The bumper is a well built hybrid bumper with a reciever made of 1/4 inch plate steel and DOM tubing. I am not commited to removing my tailgate and hinge. I spent a good deal of time trying to find a way around it but trimming the tailgate hinge is the only way this thing would fit. I didnt learn this until afer the minor bed trimming I performed. So now I'm rolling with trimed bedsides and a stock chrome bumper. At a glance it's almost unnoticeable since i cut the fender flares as well. My stock bumper sits about 1&1/2 inches lower than the fender (kinda like on the 1st gen). At this point I'm going to have to go with a high clearance bumper that requires a real bed trim. I'm pretty sure I'll be going with the SOS HC bumper. I'll be posting the hybrid bumper on the TW marketplace along with the disclaimer that it requires trimming of the bed as well as the tailgate hinge. Hopefully it will work for someone else.
