alright so i finally color matched my grill surround after a really long process today i messed up the first time and had to strip the paint haha, but now i got it right this time i just need another coat or two to get the color right but i need another can of paint.

After the match...i forgot to take the tape off the triangle part of the surround, and my grill is out as well

    Looks really good!

I plan on doing this very soon. What paint did you use? Your truck is an Impulse Red Pearl right? How well did the paint match? As far as I can tell from the pics, it matched dead on.

looks good so far, it changes when you get some clear coeat on it too.
I just painted mine and waiting for the clear to harden so I can sand and buff. I hate painting lol and the prep work takes forever.
did you use http://www.automotivetouchup.com/ paint? took them 9 days to send it here  but the paint is a real good match to my silver so I forgive them, but yeah anyone who uses them it will take 1 full can to put 3 light coats on your grille (with no F'ups)

no mine a actually Barcelona Red but ya it really did match pretty damn well after a few coats it is just a tad bit off. but i got the paint from NAPA paint and body took like 10 min. to mix up the can you can look online and see if you have a local shop. but i have heard that some of the paint and body dont mix in an aresole can like the one a went to.

but sure send me your grill haha

Man, Barcelona Red and Impulse Red Pearl look more identical than I thought. I have yet to see one in person though. How much was the paint?

well the barcelona red is a little darker and the inpulse red is well ligherter and a little more orange.

but it was like $15 bucks + tax for a can which woulda been more than enough if i didnt mess up haha.

I was highly considering doing this but I found Toyota color matched grilles from www.trdparts4u.com for $175. I know it's pretty steep but won't be too bad once I sell mine. At least I know it will be right just like factory.
