Does anyone on here know if it would be possible to swap a new 4runner front end onto a second gen taco, and what it would require?2016-toyota-trd-pro-tacoma-photo-wallpaper-327mr.jpg

    I agree with Rock Lobster.
It looks good on the Tacoma, but not $7K good (agree with the estimated cost, too).

So I'm assuming this is not gonna be a simple bolt up swap... Is the whole front end gonna have to be swapped?

I'd be camping out at the dealership, lined up, to be one of the first to buy that if only they threw that on the 2016. That front end was wasted on the 4Runner.

So far adobe has been the only one to do this swap.

Who knows it could be possible with just changing out fenders, hood etc but the supporting brackets underneath will be the difference maker. I just swapped a 2012 front end on my truck and spent about $275 on OEM brackets that support the new body panels. I bet it's possible.

I wouldn’t mind to try it, I hate that lower part tho, id chop the body line just over the fog lights and go straight across just under the bar on the grillie. Then go with a custom bumper. Id need to call up my buddy and look at the body lines and do some measurements. Looking at some pictures i can already see a few issues, Looks like the engine bay fender walls sit lower and the lights are higher above the core support. To much plastic in the way to tell....and that curved nose....ugh. I can make my own brackets for days but pain in the ass to make fenders and grillies longer or shorter... not to mention the hood and latch.[IMG][IMG]

I would seriously consider doing this to my first get taco. I love that look.

I was just thinking the same thing yesterday. I love the tear drop look that 4 runners have.

Of course yours looks better. I think it would need the whole front end. If you just do the fog lights like I did it looks funny.

I think it actually looks better with the full bumper. I did a mock up of what you were explaining.
