Volant (new style) intake. Fits fine with a larger dry filter than the AFe. Actually, the Donaldson filter in it is designed for a large turbo Diesel CAT engine as the OEM replacement. So I'm sure it can handle my TRD S/C :D.

That's the shitty first run they had. The 2nd run, pictured above, has the MAF sensor in a better spot and has room for hood struts.

Another reason not to buy shit second hand. Someone is probably selling it for a reason.

The relocation "bracket" is integrated to the filter box, but it can be easily cut off. It wouldn't be hard to relocate if you wanted to.

EDIT: Never mind, I thought you were quoting me. My bad. I'm not sure what Helmet did.

Your engine bay is dirty sir and the smog pump is facing the wrong way. It would cause cavitation of the air flow :D

I took that picture for @Rock Lobster because he was having issues with his 1st gen Volant box. The bay is clean now. Unlike quite a few guys on here, I run the S/C for trail use so it's constantly covered in muck. A clean bay is more cosmetic than anything, though I do try to clean it out regularly to avoid any damage.

As for the emission fan, I'd dump that thing in two seconds if it wouldn't throw a code :D. I'm thinking about testing the resistance so I can just run a few resistors and dump it.

It actually bolts up to the box which is easy to remove without cutting it off

Yup. That's one nice thing about the AFe. Seperate bracket. I've seen it setup a couple of different ways. Then again, it's not really hard to cut off a plastic bracket with a cutting disc or sawsall :D.

I'm going to change out my filter at 40K (which is about 50K on the odometer since I ran 10K stock) and order an AFe just to show how much less surface area the AFe filter has compared to the Donaldson. I've heard of a couple of guys fitting the Donaldson dry into the AFe somehow. It might be something to look into.

Here's the two pics I have. You can see one of the bolts inside the lid cover:

Lmao. Yes it probably would. After all for less then 1/16 of that price you can get yourself a quality hooker with some grade A VD's. Lol. I guess people really are getting desperate. Glad I nabbed mine up when I did, just in time!

Not sealed? Seriously? Wow. Talk about bad attention to details. That's too bad. I would had liked to have known if it was any good or not.
