How do you remove the rear door panels on a 1st gen DC? The front door has screws in the door handle and one in the door release latch. The rear doors only have a screw in the release latch. But something is holding the panel against the door at the door handle location. (Door handle is the part that you grab to close the door.)

I searched and came up empty handed for a 1st gen on this subject.

    Thanks,

I wondered about that, but I pulled on it and it doesn't seem to come out like the front ones.

Having dented both doors, I am well versed on the subject...

IIRC... uncover the screw behind the door latch (on the inside), unscrew the screw inside the 'finger cup' on the arm rest. Push the center of the black 'rivet' where the black plastic piece above the window line. Pry off the door panel. Disconnect rear speaker and window switch... and your ready to go!

Thanks guys, I will check that out soon.

Sorry to hear about the dents in your doors man. How did you end up with dents in both rear doors?

Bull Frog in Johnson Valley, Dishpan Springs waterfall in Big Bear. Sometime I need to put some sliders with kick outs! Just lost a ring & pinion at Hammers this w/e - I think I'd rather the dent - had to limp back to the road 10 miles - IN REVERSE!!! :D

I'm having the same issue with my 2004 Double Cab the OP had back in 2009. If anyone can further help I'd appreciate it pls.

I've removed the screw in the latch escutcheon but can't remove the escutcheon. It doesn't pop out of the door panel?

My "finger cup" doesn't have a screw to remove and the insert doesn't come out.

    Dunno what that means.

OK I got that part. It doesn't come out, it goes forward to detach from the door panel.

Armrest. Pull the ARMREST pad straight up. Then you can access the two remaining screws.

"Carefully pry up armrest to release six (6) plastic clips and remove armrest. Note: Clips can easily break if care is not taken." Well, mine didn't budge until all of a sudden BANG if flew off, breaking one of the clips. But it's done.
