That picture is far to horrible for me to even begin to know what I'm looking at.

Does everything work? Is there any place that you can fit it into? Automotive makers make male and females specific sizes so you really can't plug something in the wrong spot. My guess is there was probably some sort of an option you don't have that this particular wire would go to.

it could be the connector for the radio controls on the steering wheel (that is if you don't have it already), my other thought it either the cruise control or the intermittent wipers

i don't think the 05's had TPMS on any models. they started with the 06's. but since you don't have it, it's nothing to worry about.

I still think that wire is for the steering wheel controls for the radio. some models have them, and others don't. (it depends on what kind of package your taco has)

if you have the tow package SR5 i do believe that it is for the trailer breaks check your glove box and the other end of the connector is prob in there so you don't have to run wires if you get some trailer brakes down the line

My '07 2.7/5spd reg cab PreRunner has the same plug/harness, I thought it might be the wires that SET uses to add the port under dash courtesy LED lamps, so I probed it with my Fluke and it had a very low voltage signal 3.5 volts or something on one lead, no power or continuity on the other, but had nothing to do with the interior lighting. Must be as others have said; a harness for an option that does not exist on some vehicles.
