Ya, I defiantly going to think im going to wait for a year or two and eventually get a ICON full set for like you said around the $1500 range. I'll run the stock suspension to its worn out and then upgrade!!!!

Cause right now I only got 42K on the truck so there is defiantly some good life left in the stock suspension!

The stock springs are not made to be pre-loaded
Not trying to argue or anything, but that statement doesn't make sense to me. Its almost like saying the factory coils are not meant to be compressed.

Coilovers are great, I have remote reservoir coilovers. Honestly though for most a simple Bilstien shock is more than sufficient. Coilovers are designed with performance mind and so valving can actually stiffen the on road ride quite a bit. This coupled with preload on a higher spring rate coil further adds to the stiffness.

Depending on what you are doing with your truck. 80-90% of the time my truck is a daily driver. 10-15% of the time I do light wheeling and Camping, the last 1-5% is some hard core wheeling. With that in mind, I went with the 5100's all around, OME coils up front and APEXpos in the rear, performs outstanding. Been able to do everything my buddie does and he is running the full icon setup.

If I was in the 20+% of heavy wheeling I would go for the good stuff, but as a daily driver and camper, na. Plus I dont haul much of a load

What I meant was the factory coils are loaded to factory spec. If you pre load the spring then you are compressing the factory spring to a higher compression thus stiff / rougher ride. Icon's, OME, other coil overs's, etc... take that into consideration when designing the suspension.
