I've had my LR UCAs installed for about 18 months, only about 10k miles on them. Some offroading when they were first installed, but haven't seen a dirt road in over a year now. I used the supplied grease as directed. I didn't hear a peep out of them until a few days ago. When turning the wheel at slow speeds I have a creaking sound. The sound can be reroduced by rocking the Driver side tire when on the ground. The noise starts when I see the UCA begin to move up and down.

I'm pretty sure the noise is coming from the bushing. I can't find any play in the ball joint or bushing with driver side suspension supported by jack under the LCA, so hopefully it's just an annoying noise and nothing needs to be replaced.

Has anyone successfully used some kind of spray lube to rid the noise? I'm not going to have the time to disassemble and add more grease anytime soon, so I'm hoping I can spray something from the outside as a temp fix. I have WD40 and PB blaster handy.. Is one of those ok or should I try something different? Just wanna make sure I don't do more harm than good.

Oh, and I have checked the torque on the UCA bolt and the initial torque was done with the tires on the ground as recommended on this site.

Springs, shocks, struts, upper control arm, nothing is perfect. Dakars on my truck squeaked like shit, then one day it went away.

Maybe use a penetrating oil like 3-1 Oil? I know my dad has used that on overhead doors in various climates for 20+ years. I think WD-40 is more a solvent?

Wouldn't be a bad idea. Last thing you want is to rot a bushing using the wrong lube.

Put the truck on stands, undo the castle nut, loosen the UCA bolts and push grease into the bushings best you can.

Should be an easy fix / beer drinking activity.

I opted out of using just the supplied grease when I installed and instead used a LOT of mobil 1 synthetic grease.

Thanks all for the replies. I have not yet spoke with SPC. I will do that now.

Spoke with SPC. Even though I have the newer spec ride bushings, I have an outdated washer setup. My bushings have large washers on both sides of the bushings. SPC stated this setup will cause noise over time. They are sending me the newest update kit which uses extended sleeves and fewer washers.

OP, did it make a groaning noise when you would go over bumps when turning?

It would be cool to see a picture of the old versus new. Or maybe just the old if you still have them around. I'm planning to buy a set in the next few weeks and would like to be able to confirm for myself that I'm installing the latest update before I go through the install process.
