Bear with me, I'm the new guy and I have done a decent search on here but falling a bit short on info.

What I know. My new 2015 has cut outs in the front bumper and there is no unused wiring harness for Fog Lights so it looks like I'd have to get a full kit.

I have not seen anything applicable to the 2015 and can't tell if there are any major differences or not from other year models or not. Probably not.

Next question is "what kit?" There are seemingly a bunch of them out there and I have read some things here about the switch not fitting well.

I don't have any concerns for doing this as I'm an electronics tech rep and one of my jobs is to install service changes on equipment and I'm the guy that would install a new wiring harness on something. Only kicker is that something is not my brand new shiny truck. I'm the guy who can't stand the first scratch and don't want to disassemble half the dash or something.

Anyway I know there are a million fog light posts, many of them old with stale links, and I'm looking for a kit and something applicable to a 2015 with excellent directions.

OR.....what's it generally cost for the dealer to do......ball park.

Well, step one would be deciding what lights you want (either factory replacement or aftermarket). I would definitely look into an LED option as they are the best in my opinion. You are only limited by your wallet and they will all usually come with a wiring harness. Those are very simple to wire up and you can put the switch wherever you want, or fill a blank you already have.

Are you positive you are not pre-wired? Didn't see anything after my initial glance, but then had a second to get on my back and get under there and boom there they were. Also might want to check behind the top row, far left blank where all your buttons are.

I just finished installing the OEM lights yesterday. Bought a pair off a member here and then went to the dealer for switch ($70) and relay ($24). Talked to the guy on the phone and treated him like a person, and he ended up hooking me up with both parts for like $65. Also check local junk yards.

If you don't have a harness pre wired you will need this.

Install instructions on that same page. Pretty straight forward, if you are smarter than me. I had help. I wouldn't spend more than $100 for someone to install it for me and it shouldn't be more than an hour or hour and a half. Less if they have done it before.

$150 for OEM everything is far better than $80 eBay kits with questionable wiring harnesses, housings, switch, etc. and on a brand new truck, the extra premium for an OEM install kit is worth it IMO.

Where would I find the fog light wiring....behind the bumper knock outs? And the does the switch wire come with a plug so all I need is the relay and switch?

I'd go with rigid industries SRM for light kit. You can get everything for about $250 and it is a worthwhile kit.

Do you have a V6? Otherwise you will need the above it. No 2.7s are pre wired.

Thanks. I got it on your recommendation. A quick google of that part number showed that page but the part showed 2012-2015 so I felt pretty confident and ordered it. I'm going to ask the dealer to install it and you're right if they want more than $100 I'll just do it myself. I'm an electronics tech rep and install electrical service changes on US Navy and Marine Corps equipment and this should be easy. My big fear is putting a scratch in something. If this were your truck I wouldn't bat an eye but since it's my brand new one I haven't made a payment on yet it scares the heck out of me. But I'll get over that.

My dealer quoted 2.5 hours at $145/hour shop rate. Prepare your bunghole.

Are these the pre- wired harnesses for the fogs? This is the Passenger side and it looks like a similar bundle on the drivers side.

Also, what is the point of the blue clip on the fog covers. It looks from my angle like two screws and plug in the prewire is all that is needed (plus the switch and relay of course).

Looks to be, yes. If you have a V6, all you need are housings, relay(s), switch. It's the 2.7 trucks that are not pre-wired.

Thought so. Thanks. I'll probably just buy the relay now and be on the look out for some OEM fogs and probably switch.

I have a set for sale, but 2 mounting tabs were ground off to fit in an afermarket bumper. They mount just fine, have about 1300 miles on them and they're off of a 2014 Tacoma. Trying to move them, so if you're interested shoot me a PM.

I want to add fog lights to my PreRunner cause I hate the cups in the bumper. I shopped around and the cost was between 3-400 bucks for the kit and labor. I'm gonna have to take a closer look at my 09 V6, hopefully it's preswired as well. Thanks for the pics, nowI know what I'm looking for!

The install kit is $150 and comes with everything you need, you can find pdf instructions on the same web page. It took about an hour and a half to install everything.

I think you could do it, or you could reach out to a local member to help.

If you have a V6 though, all the shitty stuff is done already. You just need to plug in some relays and a switch, and some housings.

Thanks! I'm gonna give it a shot, if it's already prewired that will make things a lot easier. Another one of the endless things I want to do to the truck...
