I do both and have never used a trailer for any of those activities with my 4Runner. :p If it is nice gear or nice bikes I wouldn't want them banging around the bed of a truck anyway at least without a topper. It is you making the payments not I, just trying to help.

I would go 4Runner. I liked the one I had. The double cab has such a worthless bed anyway.

Try and find one of these, Pete!

Or take that DC bobbed bed that Ryan found and throw it on a trimmed up regular cab frame to hang with the Samurai guys!

Damn you guys for punking me so much ...That bobbed DC is nice though! Honestly talked to kurt about fitting car seats I may buy a ext cab again. Cheaper and more available. I just figured I'd have it for a while but I shouldnt really plan that far ahead. Also should I be looking for a rust free area taco or a new framed taco? A new frame seems the way to go since it's a different manufacturer correct ? Anybody hear anything about how new frames are holding up?

I'm looking around the 10-11 mark for an ext. cab. If your talking about the gold one well besides it being gold I dont care for the salvaged title..

I doubt there is a different manufacturer. They probably just changed their process or material choices...let's hope anyway.

You should just buy one like that with a body four years older and a frame 1 year newer. I know a guy...

Ryan did you buy your frame from Toyota? Speaking of frame rust, the original owner of my truck must of got the letter because I looked in the glove box, all they way at the bottom and found a letter from Toyota about replacing the frame itself. Man what a dick head for not doing it, probably why I got mine so cheap haha.

Toyota replaced my frame. It's an 01. Your truck would have been bought back by Toyota. They didn't replace any frames before trucks born in 01.

Yep. My 97' Tacoma was bought back in 2009 at 150% of KBB value. Frame replacement wasn't an option for my year.
