Short answer is no, but it takes some doing. That Loki guy that checks in from time to time would probably be much more capable to answer that question. With my license, which is class A unrestricted, I can't have it unless I get really, really creative and modify it to the point it doesn't resemble an AR.

Well... it is MA, would you expect anything less?

My current AR wasn't bad to build, just had to be careful which parts and pieces I put on to make sure it would be compliant in the end but not terrible.

See kids, this is what happens when a corrupt goverment makes back door deals with friends in the construction industry who aren't qualified to perform the work.

You mean to tell me low bidder isn't always the best?!?

If any of the projects I was overseeing when I was a PM turned into this, holy hell would life suck right about now....

Same model, not the exact stove, though. I haven't actually gotten a picture of it yet, lol. It's a Thelin Echo with the unfinished cast iron look (which suits our house better than an enameled model would)
When we had our Englander at the old house we went through around 2.5 tons per year. At the current house we heat primarily with wood, and the first two years we were there I burned 4 cord. Last year I burned over 5 cord, which is part of why we got the pellet stove. That way on the really cold days we can just turn the pellet stove on to pick up the slack, rather than stoking the primary woodstove to the max or firing up the kitchen cook stove in the addition (neither option is very friendly to the woodpile; the downstairs stove on a low burn can run all day on a load but on a high burn it'll eat a full firebox every 4 hours or so, and the cookstove is such a big lump of cast iron that it takes a good 90 minutes to warm up and start throwing serious heat)

And it'll be nice to have the pellet stove for those cool fall/spring days when you want to take the chill off of the house but actually lighting a woodstove would have you opening windows and shedding clothes. The pellet stove can be controlled with a T-stat (and I already have one wired in for the gas stove) so it'll be convenient for that reason too.

It remains to be seen how much tonnage I'll actually go through, but where it's going to be supplemental heat source I don't anticipate even using a full ton. Pellets may be cheaper than oil or gas, but wood is even cheaper than pellets (for me, at least). :notsure:

Low bidder isn't always best, that's why I like the term lowest QUALIFIED bidder.

You're doing it wrong. In RI, you have to say, "I'll do it for $20,000 more than that guy but I'll donate $30,000 to your 'campaign fund'"

Hey guys been a long time since I've been on

I believe the barrel length has to be at least 16.5" long to be MA Compliant.
