    2013 Tacoma TRD off road
    Hello All,
I am the proud new owner of 2013 Tacoma 4 door TRD off road :) I have wanted this truck for years and am glad to finally have one. I have been reading a lot of threads here and they have been very helpful so thanks in advance. I find myself trying to decide where to spend my money first, I need tint, intake, exhaust, headers, bed matt or extender, light mods, license plate (was an out of state truck) floor mats the list goes on forever. I have decided to start with the interior, which means seat covers. I read that many here prefer wet okole. I luv the look of them, but live in southern Cali so I am concerned with them getting really hot. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions welcome, also and ideas for what my first mods could be?

Welcome. I haven't ever owned WO seat covers, but them being really warm is a consistent complaint from those who do.

If you search for "swamp ass" you'll likely find a few of them. :D

Clazzio makes a nice cover for a bit cheaper than the WO but they're not Neoprene, so will run cooler at some level of trade off.

First mods? There is about a million things to suggest. What are your general ideas and plans for the truck? What's your budget right now for mods? Anything you really need or want? That'll help guide you into some level of unrestrained cash spending. ;)

Just ordered a set of Caltrend Neoprene seat covers. 380 for the dual tone front and rear. Will review once I get them.

I am happy with my Carhartt seat covers. I wanted ones that I could just remove and throw in the washer and dryer. You have to decide what you want to protect the seats from. Wet Okole are great in wet areas or when you may have wet clothing or bathing suits that would get the seat wet. If just for general dirt then cloth ones work best for above reason. Make sure you do get ones that are made for the correct year and model of your truck, they will work correctly with the seat air bags if you have them.

I really like the led replacement bulbs for the interior dome lights, nice to be able to see inside at night.

    OH, welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the input I am considering the caltrend covers so PLEASE post those pics asap ;) I take care of twins for a living and most of all I want to protect my seats from them, extra wear from them jumping in and out and spills. In addition I have a horse and sometimes teach at the barn so I need dirt protection. What I don't like about the cloth covers is the loose fit, I want something that looks like it came on the truck. Anyone in Cali have a cover they prefer?

These will be useful for lightening your wallet and making noise. Your $/hp ratio will be quite high. Your call. Your $. Just a heads up.

That would seem to be a true need.

Another idea. Would assume kids in back. Find a quilt at a thrift store and cover the whole back seat. When the twins are old enough to be more careful with messes, it's easy to remove. In the meantime, it's easy to remove when you don't have them (if you want to hide it) and it's washable.

For the front I use a beach towel for when I'm wet or nasty. Or a 'dry pad' that you can buy at medical supply places. Used in chairs and beds for folks with incontinence issues. When I'm not wet (like I always am after kayaking) the pad stays under the seat. Truck looks just fine.

Floormats OTOH are a must. Husky and WeatherTech seem to be the go to products around here.

    Enjoy, and welcome.

I had seen some great pics of the WO covers with the TRD logo. I must be some sort of special though because I don't see that when looking through their website. Can anyone post the link to get to the TRD logo'd covers?

    A few things
I have had WO seat covers for years in different cars. I have never had a problem with heat. I work in construction and am covered in oil and grease everyday and I throw them in the wash with neoprene soap for my wetsuits and they come out clean. They are also soft and comfortable.

Why not pick up the phone and ask them how to include that in your order?

Toyota does not allow them to advertise their logos for profit. If you want TRD on your seat covers just call. They have them.

    This post is spot on.

When my PreRunner was my work truck, I used WO's to protect my seats from all the oil and nastiness found in a refinery. Once cleaned, they look good as new. I have the TRD OR logos on mine and no issue with fading or anything despite wear and tear and occasional laundering.

I'm a huge fan of WeatherTechs. No matter what is on the bottom of my work boots or what is spilled on the WeatherTech floor mats, I have never been able to permanently stain them.
