The cheddar has been flowing out of my bank account at an alarming rate with the purchase of my taco and subsequent fixes/upgrades/accessories. But I can't stop now! I can stomach 1 more expenditure and then I need to slow it down for awhile. So help me decide on one of these two options. BTW - Taking a golf vacation with a few friends up to Tahoe for a few days at the end of the month in the Taco, so either one of these will help.

    1) new stereo (double DIN pioneer). I have one in my Camaro and connect my iPhone to it. Never listen to the radio anymore, just my music. After driving the taco for a week I find it irritating to always be jumping around radio stations trying to find music I like. This would be the head unit only. Speakers would be later.

    2) nerf bars (N-Fab or Smittybuilt - they're the same). I'm not that old and fairly tall, but I find getting into the truck requires a little more acrobatics than I would like. Having the step would be useful for me and my passengers.

    What would you do?

Id be insane if it wasnt for the stereo in my truck. So I vote stereo.

You'll get more use out of your stereo.

I got nerf bars, and never used them to step in.

    Stereo.

Another vote for the stereo. It was always the biggest "luxury complaint" I had with my Taco.

Does the current radio have an AUX Input. If so just get a double male cable and connect your iPhone to it. Or if it has bluetooth use that. Then spend the money on the nerf bar or hookers or strippers or even adult beverages or multiples of these.

Might be helpful if you gave us more info on the stereo currently installed in your Taco. Does it have a USB input anywhere?

It's just the stock base stereo (not the JBL upgrade). No inputs on the front and I doubt any on the back either.

While I have a stock stereo and steps... how many times, per trip, do you use the steps versus how many times you use the stereo?

Stereo, it sounds like you already enjoy the one in the Camaro.

I just installed a Kenwood double din in my truck and have had a mile wide grin ever since.

Well it looks like stereo is the overwhelming choice! Putting together the parts list now. Metra faceplate, wiring harness, etc...
