    What is a better AT tire then? If the BFG ko's & BFG KO2's aren't so good?

    The KO2 are great tires. Original KO.. not so much.
    There are about 6 other brands as viable options as well for the same price range and lifespan in miles.

    I have the original KO's on my 04 Tacoma 4x4 right now and was going to get the KO2's since I don't do any hard core off roading but like to be able to go off roading when I need too. They look like an upgraded version of the KO's do they have to be better.

    OTT, OME, Dakar, Eaton rear locker, camper shell, Konig Six Shooters and 33" Wildpeak tires, Pelfreybilt front bumper and skids
    I put a little over 1000 miles on a set of 275/70/17 LR E and loved everything about them except the way the heavier tire sucked all the power, especially noticeable over 55 trying to hold speed up hills. I switch to 265/65/17 LR C and hate everything about them. The ride is rougher, they are noisier, they don't handle well, they spin easy (traction control has taken over on several quick starts) and suck gas worse than the heavier tire (probably cause I'm at 34 psi trying to make them ride decent). They are lighter so don't suck as much power, but it's still noticeable.

    Wish I'd stayed with the 275/70/17 LR E

    As far as mileage on the smaller/lighter tire, my first tank was 15.0, second tank was 13.7. Granted this is August in Texas and I've spent some time idling so that likely played a part. I want my 275's back.

    Well I'm going to get either 265/75/16 KO2's or 265/70/16's so those shouldn't be as heavy right? I have the 3.4V6 and Method Double Standards I'm adding with the tires. They say those rims are 23lbs a piece

    The 265/75-16 is a heavy tire. That's what I have on my 2.7 though and it's alright.

    Just put on KO2s with fuel wheels. Im liking the looks but have to return back to disount tires because they are still causing vibrations at 60mph after the 2nd rebalance. Not sure what is going on with this. If anyone has experienced similar let me know. I will either try to get a whole new set or go with a different tire (no idea which one)

    Are the wheels brand new as well as in a package? I had a similar issue and it turned out the wheel weights were off.

    These tires seem pretty good as far as balance goes, are the wheels hub and or lug centric? do they need special spacers to fit on the hub?

    I saw the guys at discount taking the wheels out of the box. They had to be ordered from califorrnia so i assune they were new (at least that is what i payed for). The wheels have an offset but honeslty never looked into seeing if they were centric as far as the hub and lug. No spacer was put in.

    when you do go back please insist the one putting the wheels back on starts the lugs by hand first. 2 different Discount Tires have just forced mine on with air tools and destroyed 4 lugs so far and almost destroyed a lug bolt.

    I purposely made sure the wheels I have are hub centric so that they wont ever be out of balance due to sitting on the lugs weird.

    If its requires they add a tiny hub ring and those need to be there or else it sits off.

    I run a 265/70/17 Load range C with no issues so far.

    They did tell me the second time around that one tire had a low spot and they rotated it 90 degrees.

    Also are you using the small or ET(longer) Gorilla acorn lugs?

    With almost all aftermarket wheels especially aluminum you need the ET ones to bite a safe number of threads on the lug bolts.

    If they just put on the little ones and you only have 2-3 turns on the lugs, thats a potential failure point and a wheel could well... fall the hell off.

    If i had to guess they wouldbe the normal. I will have to call discount on break. At work now. Im still trying to find out if the fuel trophys are hub centric or not. Hopefullythis gets resolved soon.

    In most cases ET spline drive lug nuts are needed for Tacoma applications running aftermarket wheels but this isn't always the case; it depends on the wheel's mounting pad thickness. Most Fuel wheels require ET lug hardware though. As for the Fuel Trophy, they are lug centric.

    I was able to make it to Discount after work. They were extremely helpful in showing me that the wheels are hub centric (didn't mention lug centric), that they did use ET lugs for install. The manager Ryan swapped all four tires for a new set and he personally balanced them using force road balancing with 2 point balance and made sure the machine read zero before installing them. Unfortunately, I believe I am still getting jarring in the steering wheel going down the highway, but it was a different route than I am used to so I will know more today when I head out to work. The truck was bought new and the alignment is good. Not sure if this doesn't work what else could be wrong.
    So now I am confused. Above post tells me that fuel wheels are lug centric but Ryan told me that they are hub centric.
