For the stealth pulley is it true that its not as easy as just slipping it on? Like you have to cut it something?

I had a buddy of mine internally do a stock check for their wharehouse on the main sc itself

    18 available, 1 Portland, 1 KC, 16 in Ontario

This doesn't count for what the dealers are stocking on their shelves

I didn't bother checking on fit kits because I didn't need one. But from what I was told their shelves are empty

It is press fit on. So you need a pulley puller tool to get the stock pulley off, and then as per URD instructions you need heat up the pulley in the oven for a bit, ie thermal expansion and then quickly install it onto the SC snout using the proper tool URD sells for $40 i think.

You can probably find a kit to install it, but no guarantee on quality or price. Id just buy the recommended kit from URD

So would it be silly to get a super grip instead of a stealth? I know about psi differences but would you recommend the stealth?

Only difference is $50 and Toyota will have to take a micrometer to it after belt removal to see if you changed the pulley size. So....im gonna stick with stealth pulley and fool toyota for as long as I can

The "super grip" vs " stealth pulley" is color and stealth had a 3.0 stamped on it even though its a 2.85

I haven't installed yet. But seriously, it looks exactly the same, so they'd have to suspect an issue, and take the belt off, and take a micrometer to the inside of the pulley to verify sizing. I don't see any Toyota Tech doing that unless you reported an issue with boost or engine related. I mean, regardless, you're modifying your supercharger with something that doesn't easily install, so it's not like you can just pop it on and off. So think long and hard about it....99.9% you probably won't do any lasting damage adding 2 lbs of boost....but there's always that little chance...so who knows.

It seems like alot of people run different pulleys so I dont think Id stress about it unless someone had solid evidence

When are you going to install it?

Unless you got your SC installed at the dealer, and they dabbed their special paint on the pulley to shaft interface so they will be able to tell if the pulley has been changed. I'm curious if I just need to color match it, or if there is anything trickier like UV paint. Obviously they put it there because they know people may do this.

I did not install at the dealer, I did it myself. I wasn't aware the dealer did that themselves, as the SC comes with the pulley already installed. I'd have to go look at mine But I don't recall seeing any paint from the factory
