Oct 9th Camping Trip!

Alright Oct is right around the corner so here is the rally point for all information concerning this trip.

When:

(if you can't stay the whole trip no worries feel free to come out and leave whenever you need to)

What:
Light wheeling (dirt service roads, the ORV loop has been closed with no plans of reopening)

Gun Range $5 a day vets shoot free bring VA card or DD214,

Should be a little chilly for water sports.

Fishing, relax and enjoy the sounds of the river if we get the site I want to get it'll be a hop skip and a jump to the water.

There is also hiking trails through out the park, we would be isolated in our little neck of the woods but driving to the trails should not be an issue.

The fee for camping is $10 a night first come first serve, $10 covers up to 6 people at one campsite with $1 extra for each additional person over 6. Since I'm a Vet our first night is free.

Why:
Who needs an excuse to enjoy nature, shoot guns, and partake in general Shenanigans!?

Is 85OF (overflow?) on Cliff Rd?

I found 2 maps available, one older that is clearer, and the newer one in a crappy resolution:

http://www.dnr.state.md.us/publiclands/pdfs/greenridge_ORVmap.pdf shows campsite 85 on Cliff Rd.

http://www.dnr.maryland.gov/forests/pdfs/GRSF_map.pdf seems to show campsite 86 at that location, but hard to make out because of the low resolution.

So, where is 85OF?

 

Just a reminder alcohol is prohibited at all Md state parks and campgrounds

Yes it's on cliff road. The last time I was there it was still an OF site they were fighting to make it a site but had not been successful. It's right on the creek, if you know of any other good spots let me know I've always went to this site because the only one around is 85 back in the woods and not much traffic if at all.

Yes, yes it is. It's prohibited in a lot of campsites and most state parks, IIRC even PA. However I'm not going to tell you what to do you are all adults and can handle whatever trouble you bring about yourselves. If you bring any trouble I will act like I've never met you before and you just stumbled up to our site.

We were going to go there but chip wanted to go somewhere else, he wanted to more rugged camping

 

I wanted more privacy so when you fuckers get drunk we don't get kicked out haha

 

I've been with some pretty rowdy groups at pinchot before. The lake is insane fishing. No wheeling or guns allowed though.
