If you do get a ham you don't need your license but I know how to modify it for you the guy at ham outlets are ass holes about it now all I need is a soldering iron and I can do it in about 5 mins

They were pretty nice about modifying it when I bought mine from them. They even gave me a print out showing how to do it. No soldering iron needed, just a very fine set of needle nose pliers.

They straight up told me they aren't supposed to do it anymore and blah blah blah but me and my buddy went in to buy ours at the same time and almost walked out because they didn't want to do it till he stopped me and said don't tell anyone we are doing this and I'll show you how to do it but seemed like I had to fight with them

Thats a toasty looking weekly forecast.

Thanks guys. I am a dumbass. I'll have a roof rack by the time I go to Pismo, so I'll just get a shorter whip and attach it to the rack. duh.

If you're putting the roof rack on your camper shell, just remember to ground it back to the truck since it's probably a fiberglass shell

Not putting up an antenna. Just a temporary fiberglass flag whip. Don't think it needs to be grounded.
