    aires 3D mats, scan gauge II, rear differential breather relocation, and bakflip G2 bed cover.
    My 2015 DCSB 4X4 Off Road has 1400 miles and I have never got less than 20mpg but I never drive over 55mph and I drive for gas milage. Get a scan guage or ultra gauge and it will show you how to get better milage. I'm retired and not in a hurry and live in the country with no red lights so most of my milage is hwy.

    Quick update, I just filled up and got 17 mpg, 95% city driving. Seems like warmer temps helped a lot, maybe engine is breaking in as well. Thanks for the help.

    There's a huge thread on MPG. Suffice it to say the Tacoma is not a particularly fuel efficient ride. You can expect to get at best 20 MPG. I accepted the fact that my truck was going to average 18 MPG when I purchased it.

    Im fairly easy on the gas and usually cruise at 65 on the interstate. You'll see an increase with the change to summer gas as well as the fact that your time spent at idle is lower during the summer.

    If you lift your truck or swap out for more AT focused tires you'll take a hit to MPG.

    Take a look at the MPG thread and the members that Fuely app data in their sigs. Make the observation that very few get more than 20 MPG. Even after breaking in its not going to jump to 21 or 22 MPG average it'll most likely stay about the same.

    Prius= fuel efficient

    Tacoma= off road enjoyment

    I have heard of Toyotas steadily increasing to 10,000 miles. Mine was in that range at that mileage and now I get 20 - 21 running 65-70 on the hwy. Over 70 and it starts dropping off pretty quick.

    2015 DCLB 4x4. I'm experiencing excellent gas mileage. I kept track of fuel mileage over the last 1142 miles and have averaged 22.14 mpg. The qualifier is my driving conditions are considered ideal since I live in rural Virginia and typically travel between 45-55 mph with few traffic stops. Still I'm elated since my previous Dakota averaged 17.5mpg's.

    Are you driving a V6 or a 4 banger? The V6 is only rated up to 21mpg at best. So you're doing REALLY well if you're driving a V6! :)

    Fuelly.com shows over 11 fuel ups (entire life of my truck) I'm averaging 18.8mpg. My best is 19.8mpg. Mostly driving 55-70mph on my commute depending on stretch of road I'm on. Some 75-80mph if I'm on the interstate. Very little in town driving most of the time.

    2015 Sport DCLB with a little over 2K on the ODO. My best was 19.8 my worst was 16.1 (first tank).... Overall average is 17.7 which is right around what I expected with the mix of city/hwy driving I do.

    Not thrilled since my previous ride was getting 24.5 on average but I know what i was getting into with the truck so.......... I'm hoping summe puts me in the mid 18's

    The Tacoma is by far the most influential vehicle to driving habits i have ever had as far as MPG is concerned. Even when i thought i was driving conservative, it wasnt until i starting tracking on fuelly and buying a ultragauge where i average over 18 mpg. I mean just touching the accelerator in some instances can kill your mpg's.

    I was getting 17 -18 driving this past winter. I just checked it the last two times I filled up and I got 20.5 one time and 21.2 this last time. I have 2015 doublecab 4x4 V6. They change the blend of gas up here in the northeast in the winter and summer. I always get better mileage in the summer

    I drive pretty much city only. Very short trips. I average around 14 (hit 17 once when I included highway), but I dont drive like a grandpa. Not sure how some guys are going 55-60 on the highway, I guess they are comfortable getting passed by prius's and dudes on mopeds in order to save a few bucks.

    Others will say dont let the tach get higher then 2K (lame), dont go faster then 60 highway (seriously?). At the end of the day paying a few hundred bucks extra year in gas will not sway how I drive this truck, and lets be honest we bought trucks so mpg isnt a selling point.

    With my 2015 v-6 4x4, I've averaged 15.8 mpg on my last 2 tanks and I'm at about 2500 miles. I am running 265/75R16 e-rated BFG KO2s though. But even with the factory stock tires, best I got was 16.9 mpg.

    Heard it's not even worth keeping up with MPGs until after 5k or 10k, depending on who you talk to.

    I'm not really worrying about it... But at the same time I expected a little better. I was getting right around 16 mpg on my 2002 DCSB 4x4 with 168,000 miles... And it had 3" suspension lift, 3" body lift, 33x12.50 BFG ATs, and an ARE camper top!

    I managed to get 9.5 mpg on a 40 mile stretch of muddy road the other day, had lots of fun with the traction controls off :D

    I managed 20 mpg's on a tank once, had a really hard time not going over 60 mph, didn't think it was worth it so I'm back to my usual15-16 mpg's :cool:

    No, it doesnt get any better. I get the same mpg as you and go around the same on the highway. Want to get better gas mileage you need to be like the grandpas on here that go 55 on the highway, zero chance of that on my end.
