Uhh not to be a dick but you were kinda asking for it - not the crash, but the criticism. Glad you're alright but seriously? A little irresponsible for the driver to be going 80 and not making sure all passengers are safe.
You come across a little harsh but you're worried about someone calling you stupid? We are talking bumpers here, if you want to talk about roll cages then make your own thread.

What I took issue with, is my comment about the seatbelt was to highlight modern safety features in a car as well as to say how lucky I was. No where in there did I ever advocate against seat belts. I said it was the one time in my life where I didn't, obviously indicating that I do believe in seat belts. So to point that out again was just adding insult to injury. It was also pointless since it is clear now I'll never have another another time where I don't wear a belt.

I may have made a stupid choice, but I'm not an idiot. I'm very aware of the poor choice and don't need it pointed out.

Just feel of all the comments that could have been made, negative ones probably could be kept to ones self after going through that, that's all.

I didn't make a negative comment against you. I merely pointed out that seat belts save more lives than what you seemed to be pointing out that you have seen many that were not wearing seat belts live. I say that is not the norm at all. It is a rare occurrence. If you want to keep arguing your point go ahead. Not really sure why you posted in this thread anyway :notsure:

I am torn here. Can you post up some more pics. I want the arb because of the addional suports rather than just a pipe welded on as a hoop. However I seen side pic and it appeared it stuck out a few feet.

I'm sorry.... But when I saw "literally launched off the cow and caught 4' of air" I got a pretty damn good laugh. That's some cartoon shit there. But good timing with the bumper! That alone makes me want to get one!

ARB's do stick out a little further than most aftermarket plate bumpers.

25 years ago, I made some pipe bumpers for a FJ60, the big, four door model...Front was 5" Schedule 80 with a 1/4" wall, with standoff and 1/4" plate for winch mounting. One day, after coming home after a business trip, I found paint on the bumper and the wife didn't want to answer questions. The NEXT day we were at the Golden Corral with small children and looking out the window, three police officers were inspecting the bumper, or more specifically the paint mark. I asked the wife, do you want to talk NOW?

    Pipe bumpers to the rescue...

"None of your F&CK*NG Business", and that was only five years before she started testing positive for METH in her system, this year marks 15 years divorced.

But that was her usual answer every time she came home with a dent, scrape, traffic ticket, unpaid bill...last I heard about her was that she was going bankrupt again!
