because it looks like a Hyundai Elantra?

j/k - I have a theory that all sedans converge on the BMW sedans design lines within 3 years of them rolling out ... I actually think the Tesla is a sweet looking ride - and if you ever drive one ... wow 4 wheel immediate power ... instant freaking ON

Yeah, I am due for a new truck...my current one I bought it when it was "almost" new. Paid cash for it, for some reason I am having a hard time opening the purse strings for a new one...I have buddy in NZ, he said...ya know...most of the rest of the world just keeps on fixing what they already have...Americans tend to get bored quick...and buy new instead of fixing it. Kinda struck a cord with me.

Kinda looking forward to it...just to simply finally to find out the specs...however I'll be here on the 17th...if there is no cell service that would be even better. ;) In the end, they are just dumb trucks, who cares about the specs and whatnot...getting out and exploring is waaay more important to me.

the warden could care less about any stats/specs. as long as it is blue, JBL, 4WD, Double cab that's all she cares for. the rest is my requirements that don't interfere with her list as her list is gospel.

me I track the mpg on her truck just for laughs, low=8, high=19, avg=14.

here is a pic of her stats.

I have been hearing from people who went to the demo that MPG will be segment best (not counting Duramax diesel of course). So, probably 25 mpg for the 4x4 V6. Even if it is 24 mpg it's pretty amazing to think that is 33% better MPG than my '02 4x4 V6 manual transmission, which makes much less power.

If you are not counting Colorado's Duramax diesel than how can it be segment best ?

You have a point, but naturally a diesel will have better MPG. I wouldn't spring for the Diesel even if I were buying a new Colorado. Apples to oranges. "Best-in class Gas MPG". That better?

Still won't work for a rural setting. For that cost they probably chopped the battery and motor size. It'll probably drive like a 4 banger Grand Am and only get 150 km out of the battery. Who knows though. Telsa often surprises.

    Best gasoline fuel economy.

Same way GM advertises the Silverado as getting the best V8 efficiency in the class so they can go around the Ram Ecodiesel and Ford 2.7 L Ecoboost. It's perfectly legal, tricks the average consumer, and gives the GM fans something to stroke to over their lack of any real monumental changes to the new GM trucks.

25 MPG would be pretty incredible. Heck, even 24. I always get EPA MPG because I drive pretty sensibly. My 3.4 liter (190 hp, 220 lb ft torque) will get 19 if I am lucky. 23 MPG going DOWN I-70 in Colorado.

There is speculation that it will have a 400 mile range and compete with the M3 in 0-60 times. Believable since they have achieved sub 3sec 0-60 times with the new 90kWh Model S. It would be shocking if they could get that in a $35K vehicle though.
The construction of the new gigafactory in Nevada is supposed to dramatically reduce the costs of the batteries so maybe that helps. I LOVE Tesla, so I will be watching closely

I take it you have driven the un-released 2016 Tacoma on the highway and got MPG data already?

That would all be cool

If they can do it that thing could easily grab a huge marketshare.

I think that +/- 1 mpg will be the EPA estimates for 4x4 V6. I don't think it's impossible. Like I said, I have always been able to get EPA estimates on all cars I drive. I don't go 90, I go the speed limit and drive conservatively.
