I agree GM has made strides in quality overall in the last 5 years but overall Toyota still leads them by virtually every measure. Congratulations on your purchase though. I hope the truck works well for you.

Yeah anyone and everyone has a story about how their truck or someone they know's truck blew up at a young life or lasted 3 billion miles. Looking at macro trends, resale, etc. Toyota still leads the pack in trucks. But yes, even Toyotas have their lemons and faults.

Has the Colorado Z71 Trail Boss Edition been posted in here? I glanced through and couldn't see anything. This thing is pretty sick looking. I wasn't keen on the styling of these twins but for some reason I am liking this a lot, minus all that plastic air damn nonsense on the front.

Dont forget crazy ABS that is trying to kill people, I still think this is due to the drums on the rear. That lawsuit will come and Toyota will be replacing rear axles for everybody...

Trail boss edition but comes with an air dam.

GM is famous for these useless packages. I had a GFx edition truck when I was 16. A few thousand extra dollars apparently gets a logo, some vinyl, and that's about it lol.

The trail boss just a gussied up mall crawler edition. It's not a "trail boss" at all. If GM wanted to make a "trail boss" they should just release the ZR already. Then I would be impressed and tempted.

Given that all trucks, even in that thread, aren't behaving the same I'd suggest it's a programming or computer resistance issue. Nothing to do with the drums.

Hey good for You. A guy with an open mind that not only reads what the experts are saying but actually drives the "competition" before pulling the trigger. I understand loyalty and being happy with your purchase but the market is constantly changing. Maybe Toyota will come back with a generation 4 that's on top. I'm sure the GM twins have their attention. Taco outsold the twins by 3-1 in June, in July, they outsold by 1.5 to 1. The twins currently sit on dealers lots an average of 16 days; it's the fastest selling truck on the market. Even after adding a third shift, they still can' make them fast enough. Better that the new F150. There must be something to it; 60% of people are new to GM.

    Photo's?

You seem to have open mind. You admit the Tundra isn't competitive with the big 3. Wouldn't everyone want to hear the good and bad of everything on the market?

I have no problem with that, but to say "I went with the 2016 Canyon because I drove a 2015 Tacoma," is silly if you were waiting to see the 2016 Tacoma. I whole heartedly agree, that for the average consumer, the 2015 Tacoma is not nearly as good as the 2016 Colorado. The 2015 is missing more little features than I can count. However the 2016 Tacoma is looking to spec up well to the new Colorado. Sure, the 2016 Tacoma will be may be missing power seats and rear disc brakes, but for 99% of consumers those aren't deal breakers. It's things like MPG on the label, HP, zoned climate control, tow packages, fit/finish, and other electronic items that draw in buyers. TBH it's a draw on those things with the Canyon winning some area's and the 2016 Tacoma winning others. On the test drive I'm feeling confident that the 2016 Tacoma will feel more nimble and functional than the Canyon too. Toyota has the name to go with the product as well, and I think that will win out overall. Not to mention the Colorado will probably be a disaster mechanically from how the first year has went.

BTW I own a Ford, Ram, and Toyota product right now. I do keep my mind open. TBH the Colorado didn't impress me on the test drive. It felt like a cheap Malibu interior. The interior of the 2016 did impress me when I saw it a few weeks ago. Everything has been moved to give the perception of more room in the same space.

It looks boss and that's about it I guess. I don't know diddley about the GMC and Chevy offerings, I just thought it looked pretty cool. Enough to give me pause.

That trail boss edition looks as silly as a bag of dicks. Thought they did away with the avalanche. It just won't die.

"High strength steel where it matter, Aluminum where it doesn't"

So it matters that the body panels are made out of steel? Last I checked the frame and safety bars on the Ford are steel still . Silly GM. Can't tell the truth on anything or they couldn't keep up. How much you want to bet all the lack of R+D from GM on some of their models, compared to the competition, has to do with their massive marketing campaigns? I can't wait for the Diesel slogan they will use. I'm sure they will act like Diesel is some new fuel that no one has ever used in a small truck...

Sorry if that's offensive to some Colorado guys, but I find GM full of BS. BTW a ton of my extended family works for GM or GM dealers in Ontario. So what I say has nothing to do with a hate on for GM as a company. I just think they are lazy to really innovate and are kind of the slow kid on the block when they do try to come up with something new.

It's all subjective. You show a whore a bag of dicks, she wouldn't think it was silly. She would appreciate it.

So women of the night will love the Trail Boss edition?

The trail boss looks like a truck that is trying hard to look tough but isn't. I agree though, to the average 20-30 year old male who has never even been in a 4WD probably will think it's badass which is why they should sell well. To anyone who actually wants to go on trails though, that truck is a joke with those step bars and the air dam.
