If they offered a manual on the DCLB TRDOR I would sell a kidney right now to get into one.

everytime there's a new design people complain and then a year later or so it grows on you... which is why ignore all the whining until it's been out for awhile. At the moment, very few people have even seen one in person.

Keep looking. The price sheet didn't include destination either. There's a few threads on it already.

They are pretty expensive even for xlt version with tiny scre and black dash.

The seat material looks the same as my regular cab, manual, stepside bed from 12 years ago grey honeycomb.

Did find a few after $7000 incentives at about 41000, but really no frills interior.

I can get over the design, it is minor drive train improvements I am not too excited about, the heart of the beast is what really matters anyway over looks.

Have been waiting a long time for a 30 mpg little truck from US Toyota...looks like that wait is going to be longer.

I am sure it will fine for the majority of buyers, just doesn't blow my socks off to spend my money on it.

I like the truck. I'll be keeping my Tacoma for a bunch of reasons that have nothing to do with the new one. When I do need a new truck though it will likely be a third gen unless the GM Diesel is holding up a lot better than I expect or Ford bring the Ranger to North America.

How are F150's 41K in the USA with those options? I paid ~41K OTD for my wifes F150 XTR DCSB with the 5.0 L Coyote in it and that's CAD.

Ahh come one. Displacement isn't everything. At least drive it. It may rev more but it will have substantially more HP and similar torque with much better MPG.

30 mpg pickups with gas engines are long-ways off. I think if the Tacoma went to aluminum it might be feasible someday.

This is what Ford is offering in the south on a F150. Bad part is you have to take delivery from dealer stock and they don't seem to have color combinations that appeal to me.
If you want the big screen you can get it for $450, or upgrade to 302a package. However ford SYNC is supposed to be terrible and even more functionally crippled than entune audio plus which is a $680 forced upgrade by southeast toyota on SR5, or $1250 with satnav and apps. (at least on the 2015)

    2015 Ford F-150 XLT
    SuperCrew 2.7L V6 EcoBoost
    w/Luxury Chrome or Sport Pkg.

Thats OK. Feel the same way about GM, Dodge and Nissan. I am going to get a new truck in the next couple of months and have been not so patiently waiting for the 2016 Taco which I will most likely get. Once specs, options, prices etc. are released by the super secret Toyota agents on monday I will make a decision. Until then I am considering trucks that are not so secret.

Or finance it at a rate depending on your credit score, through the dealer or your bank. For example, put down a few grand down and finance the rest at 1.9 %.
Sale price will still be $40k plus tax, tag and title, less any trade-in.

My FIL just bought a 2015 F-150 SuperCrew 3.5L Ecoboost 4x4 Lariat with some decent options For $42,800 plus tax. 2.7L XLT SuperCrew 4x4 Sports can be had for under 35I plus tax.

Beating a dead horse here...drop a diesel in it...30 mpg easy. I wouldn't even bother with aluminum...make most of the body panels out of composite like the bed.

I would even settle for a Hybrid, if it got North of 30 mpg.

Toyota has been making 4WD trucks in the US since the late 70's...here it is the end of 2015, and no real improvement on fuel consumption. Yeah, I know they have gotten heavier and what not...but we do have a 1/2 Ton truck out there that gets 29...with a little effort you can squeak 40 out of them.

I didn't have my hopes up in the first place, I knew Toyota would only be mildly better than the out going model...but damn, tired of waiting on US Toyota. Especially when the rest of the World gets exactly what I want.

I couldn't agree with you more. I have driven hiluxes, navarras, mazda bt50s, real land cruisers and rangers with efficient diesels that are reliable and cost effective. However i think the problem lies in our brilliant Washington leaders that reduced the sulfur and insist on the injection of cat piss (urea) into US certified small diesels.

Maybe about 2021 or so I'll get a used DCSB if it's the best offroader and all around truck that fits in my garage (which it probably will be). Looks like a good truck, proven systems from the Gen2, AT from the Tundra, crawl control from the 4runner. Maybe in five years they'll be reasonably priced used, new they're approaching 40k OTD.
