I could care less about crawl control or a GoPro mount or technology package. Basic TRDOR package would suffice for me.

C'mon guys... If Toyota brought their small diesel to the US for the Tacoma we'd all be jizzing in our pants. Don't act like jealous ex girlfriends :D

    LOL.

Nah, I wouldn't be jumping around. I drive Diesels all the time in heavier trucks. I'm fine with my Gas job trucks. In the end the costs work out about the same or within a few K and the differences to everything, except heavy towing, is pretty small.

Only sad thing is that most Diesels now, with the emissions systems, aren't all that reliable.

Yup, if you need to tow go with that truck. Leave the minitruck at home. No amount of DEZUL will make it the same as a 3/4 ton.

Nice, Ram Cummins good too. Anyone know how Ford's new diesel is doing? Lots of problems with old powerstroke.

Jeez, I don't know, I guess you think people who disagree with you must be meterosexual mall crawlers.

I'm neither of those derogatory terms. Not that I care. Mallcrawler is basically the first term out of anyones mouth offroad when they are pissed, just like asshole is to a laymen. I take it the same way from you. I doubt you even know what a metrosexual is, or why it's become popular to call people that.

Neither metrosexual nor mallcrawler are derogatory, they are terms used to describe specific types.
OMG you are such a illiterate. :D

I think you have that backward. Diesel motors have WAY more torque down low than similar gas engines. The only area a gas engine is faster is VERY high in the RPM band where you're likely WOT. Though I wouldn't refer to that as off the line "pep".
Interesting bit of info. I'll admit, I haven't heard anything about the difference in curb weight for the two engines. The diesel is an Iron block for sure and the V6 is an aluminum block. Although the block material is definitely heavier it also houses two less cylinders BUT then again there's the weight of the turbo too. So yeah, it will be interesting to see what the weight difference is!

I dunno, just carry an extra jug of the stuff...I carry a bunch of fluids in the truck at all times, motor oil, gear oil, anti-freeze...what is another jug?

Toyota does the same thing to the HiLux....side steps...sport bar, etc...it is for the city slicker crowd.

For sure. Again I wasn't trying to point out a fatal flaw but it would be a bitch to run out of DEF or enter a filter regeneration cycle in a spot when you need all those torques.

A guy I offroad with was towing a Landcruiser down to Moab once with a buddies 3.0 L Cherokee, and no it wasn't legal but no one stopped them, but they had the exhaust filter enter regeneration on a climb up into the Monida pass. They thought they were going to lose all momentum if they had a gust of wind and the transmission temps were touching 250 F when they hit the top. Not good.

It's Europe. Farms there barely even use pickup trucks because their tractors have airbrakes and are allowed to travel at higher speeds on the roads with a load than they are here.

If GM had of called that truck something like "UUV Edition" (Urban Utility) then I wouldn't of even commented, but trail boss is hilarious considering what you actually get.

When I saw the new trail blazer, I immediately thought of the HiLux of where GM stole the idea. Those useless sport bars seem to be huge Down-under.

About the only truck they look good on is the early 80's Pickups.
