TRD supercharger availability update

Already home lol, left yesterday after the wife worked half a day

 

Good One! That's probably the #1 reason to get a SC. To blow the meatheads in their full size trucks away! They always step on it when I'm next to one, but thankfully I'm past that nonsense in my life. I've decided to put the 5 grand towards a N54 335i bimmer and tune that bitch. Then I wont be able to resist blowing every A hole away! LOL It's going to get me in trouble like my 5.0 stang did. I was much younger then though. Oh well I need a drivers car too.

 

Do you have to drop the tank to get to the fuel pump?

Haha yea. I try not to do anything crazy with the fam in the car, but he was just asking for it and the wife said go ahead lol. That is definitely one of the perks, making the full sizes sit down and wonder how my little midsize just smoked them lol.

 

Yes. Just gonna try to run the tank down to empty next week and drop it shortly after so i can do the install. I don't see it being that difficult

So Michael's Toyota of Bellevue has a supercharger and fit kit instock. $4720. They will only sell it, if they do the install. They quoted me 16hrs for install. No thank you. I live in Portland. But this may work for some ones else. I had my local dealer look into a fit kit. He say they now have 78 on back order. They can still order the fit kits. As Toyota is trying to sell of all there inventoried superchargers Was told 2-6 weeks

 

Yea well most tuned anything can smoke our mid size trucks. Dont hate on my win lol

 

16 hours to install? Holy crap, that's overcharge.

 

That's about how long it took me to do mine, with help from a neighbor and it being our first SC install. I'd hope a trained Master Tech who's done it before could do it in at most 12....If I had to do it again I could do it in 12, easy.

 

That is where I had mine done. I was able to negotiate it down to 12 hours, at a reduced hourly rate of $80. That saves almost $500. The guy that does it is a retired 35 year master tech. He comes in only to do the SC installs.

Regardless, if they are selling it for MSRP that is a steal compared to what others are selling it for. You'd pay at least $500 more (on a good day) for the charger anywhere else anyway.

 

I was able to get my super charger for $4083.00 and the fit kit for $580. So $4,663. I can do the install my self. I was a service tech for most of my working life. I know it's not going to take a tech more then 8-10hrs for the install.

 

Recently? If so that is impressive, most are going for the low/mid $5k mark.

 

I blasted my buddy's ecoboost N/A! He came roaring by around 80, but until then, I was giving him the dust. That was with pretty aggressive timing and full exhaust/intake.

 

Same here. Negotiated down the price and labor time. Scott doesn't do most of the accessories dealing these days but he was willing to work from the price initially quoted.

But it sounds like $4663 was a good deal, just gotta take the time to go install it himself.

 

I was able to order the supercharger before the big rush and people started listing then for 15k

I can't wait for magnuson superchargers starts selling the kits and the people trying to get stupid amounts of money can't sell the ones they have.
