That's pretty ridiculous they wouldn't haggle. When I bought mine I was able to bring them down close to 3000 from the asking price

Well don't get discouraged, I'd keep looking. What are you looking for? Also private seller or dealership?

Looking for a 2006-2010 4x4 AC or DCSB with under 125k miles. I'd prefer TRD sport of OR. Dealer or Private seller, either works for me. My price range is around 20k

I prefer private sellers over dealers because you can generally haggle more. Provided your credit is good, you can usually get a better interest rate through a bank or credit union, compared to a dealership. Also, dealerships always give me that slimy feeling that they're trying to screw me....they're not nicknamed the stealership for nothing!

Yeah I prefer to deal with private sellers too, but sometimes you can't help it ha

I'd stay close to Craigslist if I were you

Another plus is if you can meet a seller at his house; that way, he'll be less prone to screw you over because you know where he lives lol

Nowadays they wanna meet in public after the telfair shooting. My brother is a cop down there and he was telling me now they do a bunch of Craigslist transactions in the police parking lot

Craigslist is good, but then you get the idiots that think they're truck is worth way more than it is. Though I'll admit, you walk up with cash, it talks the most. A buddy of mine deals trucks and cars with his dad. If the person is asking 20k they'll walk up with 15k cash and say that's what they'll pay. They'll offer maybe 1k more, but then they'll walk. It works 7/10 times. And most of the time, when they say they can't do it and start walking, that's when the person will stop them and make the deal

But be forewarned, do NOT do anything where the person asks for a deposit before meeting with the vehicle. There's been a scam here in Augusta (it's gotten 7 people so far) where they ask for a deposit then meet for the deal

Yeah I'd never do that, I'd like to look at the vehicle before I put any money towards it
